Hello and welcome to the Feyenoord story!

I’ve decided to venture away from the English leagues and gone to Holland to manage Feyenoord who some of you may remember won the European Cup (Now the Champions League) back in 1970, but have enjoyed recent European success in the form of a Europa League title in 2002 (which more of you may remember)

Now down to business, the media predict me to finish 4th despite Feyenoord finishing 10th in the Eredivise last year. My budget comes to a grand total of 150k with the board’s expectations that I challenge for the title, However I do get 90% of transfer revenue made available so I will look to get rid of some deadwood.

I would be lying to you if I told you that I knew anything about the Dutch league apart from Steve McLaren’s brief spell there with FC Twente. So I will be relying heavily on my scouts and support from anyone who offers it.

Transfers:

Out:
Sekou Cissé to sc Heerenveen - £1.3 million

In:
Marco Materazzi (The one Zidane Head butted) – Free
Henrique Miranda from Sao Paulo -£925k
Vennegoor of Hesselink, Jan - Free

I Brought in Materazzi as I have currently Only 2 DC’s although he may be old he still has good stats and he can take a head but. I’m lacking quality at left back so I brought in Henrique Miranda has 5 star potential according to my scouts and he’s very cheap. I Picked up Hesselink on a free as I reckon he’s got a sold year left in the tank. I am hoping to offload some more players and bring in another one or two for players.

Pre – Season:
I mostly focused on transfers and allowed my assistant to manager pre season however it went well, here are the results:

Excelsior 0-2 Feyenoord
Telstar 0 – 0 Feyenoord
Feyenoord 1 – 1 Wigan
Waasland – Beveren 0 – 3 Feyenoord
Metalac 1 - 1 Feyenoord
Sindjelic 0 – 3 Feyenoord
Mladi radnik 1 – 3 Feyenoord

I’ll give more in depth reviews on competitive matches.

Thanks for reading my introduction this should be good fun if you have any suggestions please post!

I'll give you a short recent history:

Feyenoord Rotterdam was the last few years in great financial trouble, and also in injury troubles. They have a very young, but also very decent squad, and a very very good youth. Players you should look to keep: Cabral, Bakkal (will be free next year), Ron Vlaar, Xuxu. Feyenoord has a great potential, and you should be able to get it to the top again, as long as you are ready to face some serious trouble (at least financial and maybe some sporting) in the beginning, and I think that there is a reasonable risk that you ace a take-over within 2 seasons :)

When questions about dutch players, ask me :)

I think it’s fair to say August was a fairly poor month for Feyenoord despite winning the first two games comfortably the second both went very poorly with a big loss to FC Utrecht who in all fairness have won every game this season rather comfortably, little transfer news I only sold one player being Kelvin Leerdam for 575k and Loaned out Manu Elvis. So it looks like Elvis really has left the building.

Matches:
Feyenoord 2-0 NAC Breda
Very comfortable victory bosses possession and had 17 shots on target Jan Venegoor of Hesselink got a goal on his debut and in the 82nd minute Bruno Martins indi finished the game with a header from a free kick, NAC Breda posed little or no threat and this was a very easy game for us.

Roda JC 1-2 Feyenoord

While I watched this game it seemed pretty simple we took our chances and they didn’t Cabral put us 1-0 up in the 18th minute, they then made it all square with Sanharib Maki scoring a tap in from a perfect cross, we then had to take on very heavy pressure so I switched the Tactic to counter and Mokotjo threaded a perfect through ball to Guyon Fernandez who passed it to Schaken who passed the ball into an empty net. From then the game was as good as over however the statistics show a different story as Roda JC pulled off 20 shots on target in comparison to our measly four, what can I say? Brilliant Goalkeeping! However it wasn’t all good as in the 73rd minute Hesselink was injured for 2 months.

Feyenoord 0-0 De Graafschap

Here we gave De Graafschap their first point of the season, we created so many chances but had no finishing touch as we didn’t have Hesselink, There really isn’t much to say about this match; we should have won but we didn’t and disappointingly dropped points.

FC Utrecht 4 – 1 Feyenoord

It was going to happen eventually, we came up against an inform FC Utrecht who dominated us from start to finish within 32 Minutes I was 2-0 down, and I knew I had to change something I switched to overload and just before half time Isoufi eased some of the pain when Mokotjo played a perfect over the top ball to him and he went round the keeper and tapped it in. I felt like we could really go for it so I told the players they are playing well, big error straight away we were 3-1 down through a Douplan goal. We were crushed after all that work at the end of first half and it was a drab game from then with Alexander gernt heading in from a corner in the 90th minute just to add a bit more pain.

And what makes it even worse is Achahbar who is a young striker beginning to find his feet got an injury which puts him out for two months.

Results wise it has been poor however I am currently fourth but my next game isn’t for 22 days, So I really need to be more active in the Transfer window.

So I have 400k Left , which can be increased if I sell a few more players, I really need to bring in a young striker as without Hesselink we don’t look like scoring, all suggestions welcome.
