Go on vacation. That seems to work when I have a problem similar to that.
Sorted - thanks a lot!!
Which editor pack/ custom league did you use? Oh and grate story, cant wait for the next installment!
I took a look here first but I couldnt see one with the amount of leagus I wanted so found this on the SI forum.
A second problem has hit but his one may be terminal for my save. A crash dump occurred while saving and the save has now been corrupted and won't load. No backup file :(
Panic over!! No sure how a second save file has been created but there is one and its game on. Have to redo pre season though!!
An actual update for you - my summer transfer dealings

A disappointing summer in the transfer market. I lost my first choice RB on a free after he refused to sign a new deal. Haruna was allowed to leave on a free too as i felt we didnt get value for money from him.

Unfortunately the lack of money in at the club has meant I could do very little in terms of signings. A transfer budget of 0 and a wage budget of about £500 over what I currently had meant I could only really look at frees and the 10% slice of transfer revenue I got meant selling players was pointless. With every team outside nigeria rejecting friendlies there was no quick fix to bring some money in either. Here's hoping the ACL later in the season will bring in some much needed revenue.

I'm competing in the league against clubs with average attendances of about 20 times what I can turn out - I'd like to win the ACL with Bussdor but i'll find out this season how my current squad stacks up against the continents best.
The dreaded screenshot that every manager of a small club hates to see:

My starting left winger was being sold from underneath me :(

These are his stats during his time at Bussdor:

One of my first signings in my first season. Hoping I could persuade him to stay I brought him into the office for talks but he refused to speak to me. Two days later the contract was agreed and off he went. With me only receiving 10% of the fee to spend my transfer fund to replace him was now 15k though I was still in need of a back up RB. My second choice left winger is a 2* potential 18 year old. I've thrown him straight in to see if he sinks or swims but I'll be on the hunt for a left winger.
Its the halfway point of the season and lets jut say we're not where I want to be!!

Too many draws in the first quarter of the season meant we lost a lot of ground early on sinking as low as 10th at one point. We then went on a 12 game unbeaten run in all competitions to haul ourselves back into a respectable position.

Our final two games of this half of the season were two tough away trips. First up was Nigerian goliath Enyimba. We outplayed them for much of the game but were undone by a fine strike from Iroha. Nxt was Nasarawa where we returned to the place where the title was lost last season. Learning from last year I played 4-2-4 from the off and was rewarded with a solid performance, Mohammed scoring both goals.

Our poor early form I think was down to me experimenting playing Kouma at central midfield due to his all round stats but the defence suffered without him. I also dropped Etafia. my first choice GK for Musa and have been rewarded with a run of 2 goals conceded in 8 games.

I have also made the tough decison to drop Peters despite him scoring 11 in 15 but he seems to be missing too many clear cut chances and felt Mohammed deserved the opportunity.

All this leaves me sitting in 5th, 1 point off the continental spots and 9 points off the top. It doesn't look great on the face of it but with my defence on form and 4 of the 5 top teams to visit me theres plenty of cause for optimism.

My cup dream is alive and kicking too as we're in the QF with a relatively straight forward tie. Most the big clubs have gone and the two remaining, Enyimba and Narasawa have drawn each other.

In the ACL the preliminary draw is at the end of jan and will update when that is done.
Tough break on the LM mate, something will come up. Maybe even issue an ultimatum?
Good luck in the ACL too
Th preliminary draw for the ACl was kind - I drew Sierra Leone side Kallon who have a squad of grays so should be simple enough. In the Nigerian challenge cup I also got a soft draw after knocking Zamfara out with a 1-0 away victory. El Kanemi await me in the semi-final who got relegated last season. I think my first final beckons!!

In the league however things do not look so rosy - 2 losses and 1 win since my last update have left us 16 points adrift of top spot although we do have a game in hand. Even 2nd place and the other ACL qualification spot is 13 points ahead so its going to require a lot of work to re-qualify :(
With 3/4 of the season gone our league challenge is over. We went on a winning streak of four games after my last update, mostly against clubs I would expect to beat before coming seriously unstuck against 2nd placed Warri Wolves. We had more possession and more shots and neither team managed to create a clear cut chance but we got thrashed 4-0. A freak result but a result that effectively ended our hopes of a second successive CL qualification.

In the ACL, as expected we crushed Kallon in the preliminary round winning 5-0 away and 1-0 at home to clinch a big aggregate win. We now face Petro Atletico of Angola in the first round, another team of grays which should be a walkover.

I'm beginning to receive some big offers for some of my players - 125k for Quartey, a young strker that looks like hes going places and 91k for Asamoah, who leads my team in assists this season. I rejected both as I want to keep my squad together for the ACL.

I think this will likely be my last season with Bussdor - I'm not sure how much further I can take them with the financial constraints on me - this screenshot gives you an idea of the uphill task I have and thats just in the league!!

If I win the ACL (optimistic!!) I'll load up either Europe or the Americas - if not, i'll try and get a competitive side in Africa
Well the curtain has come down on a massively disappointing season - my lack of interest in the league games after I had decided to leave meant I put no effort in and the results showed it.

We managed to bottle it yet again in the Challenge Cup losing to a non league side in the semis.

The only competition I had any interest in was the ACL. As predicted we waltzed through the first round without any trouble and drew old foes ASEC in the second round. ASEC were the dominant force in the Ivory Coast where my career started and I was looking forward to pitting my wits agains them now. A goalfest in the first leg which was away gave ASEC a slim 3-2 lead. With my last league game between the two ties which i couldnt be bothered with I went on holiday for a week. Only problem was I got the return date wrong and returned just in time to find a 1-1 draw in the home leg had knocked us out!! Whoops!

We finished a very distant fourth in the league meaning I left Bussdor with a spot in the ACC for this season and next along with the financial boost that playing in the ACL this season gave. A big money offer or our junior strker of 150k was also accepted so the club was in very good condition as I left. So much so i'm very tempted to stick it out for a couple more seasons. I'll keep an eye on jobs coming up over the next month and decide from there

After some thought I decided to stay and finish the Bussdor project. I was never going to jump straight in a continental rep team if I left and think i'm better placed here with about 60-70% of my squad being players I know and trust rather than moving somewhere else and starting from scratch.

In order to keep me I requested some changes from the board. My slice of player sales has jumped to 55% and some of the money from my short lived ACL run has gone to improving the training facilities. I've also arranged a parent club in Romania for a little extra dough!

Clearly after last season my squad needed work. I only lost two senior squad members in the summer - my back up right winger, Oliseh and my 4th choice CB, Sylvester George who retired. I had highlighted a new GK, RB, DM and ST as areas I needed to improve.

I already had a deal agreed for a striker on a free. Quite a nice replacement for Quartey imo:

I was struggling with the rest though. I had a visit from an agent ofering me a full Nigerian international (Nigerian internationals play in Europe not Nigeria). I took a look, like what I saw and brought him to the negotiating table expcting to get slapped down. As it turned out he was more than willing and negotiations were agreed rapidly

I had a deal agreed with a RB that had been on my shortlist for a while but when it came time to confirm the deal inexplicably fell through. I still have no idea why. When i tried to offer him a deal again he demanded 4x the salary he initially agreed so i told him where to go. I eventually found a young Ghanaian on a free.

Ater a few offers for GK's but getting asked for stupid money I was about to just leave it and make do with the keepers I had then a note from my scout said one of my shortlisted scouts was out of contract in 6 months. I swooped in and he will be joining us in January

I also agreed deals with a couple of young defenders. Heres the full list of my transfer dealings

Pre season this year was a bit different. I had ACC gamses in the middle of the period so i didnt organise too many friendlies. We sneaked a 1-0 away win in the away leg of the ACC and a 3-1 home in confirmed our place in the group stages. We got a tough draw with Al-Ahli from Libya, Kaizer Chifs from South Africa and Africa Sports from Ivory Coast. I think the Africa Sports games will be key.

My friendlies I left in the incapable hands of my assistant who didnt fail to disappoint managing 1 win in 3.

I am cautiously optimistic about this season. Qualification for the ACL is a must though realistically I want the title and have told my board as much in an effort to put some pressure on. Good cup runs will be a bonus.
An earlier season update than usual as I have breaking news!

Bussdor have advanced to the semi finals of the ACC after pulling out a win in the final group game against Kaizer Chiefs. After drawing at home to Africa Sports I thought our challenge was over but we pulled off a shock result to qualify as group runners up. We would have finished top but conceded a late goal to give Chiefs the top spot on GD.

In the league our form has been impressive. Only 1 defeat so far although it was a surprise one losing at home to Akwa. Due to ACC games we have two games in hand on our rivals but sit well placed in 4th.

In the cup we've navigated the first two rounds safely and have drawn a non league side in the third round. We'll be taking nothing for granted after the last few years!!
