So just started a new game with Chelsea, wanted to share what's going on, please also let me know what you have done differently if you like. So far done the summer period from June-August 2011/12. So starting off with the transfers in euros.

OUT :
Didier Drogba - Barcelona - 12million
Alex - Man City - 10million
Anelka - Real Madrid - 7million
Bosingwa - Atl. Madrid - 4million
Hilario - Man City - 1million

ON LOAN (youngsters) :
Conor Clifford - Sheffield Wednesday
Jamal Blackman - Yeovil Town
Milan Lalkovic - Cardiff City
Jacob Mellis - Southampton
Ben Gordon - Nottingham Forest
Billy Clifford - Exeter

IN :
Gary Cahill - Bolton - 14million
Neymar - Santos - 59million

So that's taken all my transfer budget & my wages are about 40 grand in the red for now. Quite happy that I got some good money for some of the older players rather than losing them on free transfers. I am continuously creating a shortlist for next summer with some more targets. In regards to sorting out the finance my only plan so far is to offer Paolo Ferreira for about 2million in January & will be saving his wages that are about 40k+ per week. Do you think I will get offered anymore transfer money for Jan? is it worth asking? In FM11 it used to come up automatically where the board would offer me more funds to strenghten squad. haven't come across it much on FM12.

Now in regards to tacticts i play 4-1-2-3 with two centre backs, the fullbacks at an advanced position when needed, a holding midfielder, two central midfielders, two wingers & a centre forward. I play a fluid attacking game & ask the team to be more expressive, play a wide high tempo game with cautious tackling. In regards to results i can give you up till now & will update as I go along. So far haven't lost a game so not bad although I was disappointed with some of the draws.

So pre-season results :

vs Chelsea Reserves 4-0 H
vs Vitesse 6-2 A
vs Chicago 2-0 A
vs Real Salt Lake 4-0 A
vs Bradford 4-0 A

vs Flamengo 0-0 H
vs Juventus 3-0 H
vs Cruzeiro 0-0 A

Barclays Premier League :

vs Swansea 3-0 H
vs Stoke City 1-1 A
vs Aston Villa 1-1 H
Just to let you know, Gary Cahill settled in nicely next to John Terry at CB although he did have an unlucky own goal on his debut or 2nd match i think ! After those two draws I hope we can start scoring more goals, think it's time to unleash the Neymar! I bought him at the end of the transfer window so unlike Cahill hasn't played yet.
good signings so far especially with neymar.

but make sure you get out of the red pretty quickly because the board wont like be to happy

Yassine Al Ghannasy AA Gent 6million
Michael Bostwick Stevenage 0.6million
Kermit Erasmus Super Sport United 0.25million

Man City A 0-1
Norwich A 4-0
Wigan H 4-0
West Brom A 1-3
Bolton H 3-0
Liverpool A 1-0
Fulham H 2-0
Arsenal H 3-3

Leeds H 3-0

Champions League :

Dinamo H 4-0
Ajax A 2-0

Marseille A 0-1
Dinamo A 0-1
Ajax H 2-1

So knocked out of League cup, still in FA cup & won the Champions league group, now up against Olympiakos in First Knockout Round. Premier league table as follows.

Manchester United 58 points
Manchester City 43 points
Arsenal 43 points
Chelsea 42 points
Tottenham 40 points

I am aiming for at least 3rd spot.
Good story so far - You will be very lucky to stay in the job if you finish 3rd (Roman Abramovich is very realistic in FM12!)

I think your tactics could probably do with a tweek. 4-5-1 or 4-2-3-1 seem to work best with the squad Chelsea have got.

Good luck...
good work so far mate. u should try putting some screenshots up to make it more interesting .

ive noticed that all your losses so far have come away from home .:/ . you should tinker with your tactics or make an away tactic to try and make things easier away
Man Marking, Tight Marking, Closing Down & More disciplined should help you're problems at the back. I play this with an attacking mentality, counter attack & semi-direct passing and it works very well, beat Arsenal 7-0 and City 5-0 last night and then changed slightly and drew 1-1 with West Brom.
Thanks, i actually got sacked after a couple of years. just won league & fa cup. Have started a new one & finished 3rd, won league & fa cup in first year. will try and open up a new thread with some screenshots etc.. as i was looking at the other threads.
One thing I strongly recommend, as you are Chelsea, is sorting your staff out. Anyone who has poor attributes simply sack! There are plenty of world class staff that are willing to come to Chelsea. Ensure you have 10 scouts with at least 16 for 'judjing ability' etc... It will help massively!
Not so sure about the signings :P I think with sturridge, torres and drogba you had 2 established world class ones and a good prospect in sturridge. Nonetheless, getting Neymar is brilliant, considering I'm in my 5th season and Santos want £109,000 million for him!
In my first season I bought Afellay for 1.7 million and he's brilliant as a right winger. Did you not buy a RB after selling bosingwa? I bought Van Der Wiel for 14 million and he's solid enough. I bought Doumbia in my second season and hit 30+ and 40+ in two seasons before injury kept him out for most of the 3rd. I sold him to get Jovetic for 37 million... Lukaku and Jovetic are two of the hottest properties in the game!
