Hi guys,
I’m having a bit of a problem and I can’t seem to find the answer anywhere on the forums or the net. It’s in relation to the ‘percentage of profit from next transfer’ clause. I have just received my first of these kick backs but it seems I’m not getting all the money. I sold a player a couple of seasons ago for 2.3m with a 30% of profit from next sale clause. He was then sold on for 2.8m, meaning they made a profit of 500k. By my understanding, I should be due 150k. I am in fact only receiving 60k over 24 months, which is 12% of their profit, not 30%. I’m just wondering if there is some other cost deducted from the profit share agreement before I receive it. Does his initial signing on fee get deducted or does this sound wrong? I know it isn’t much money but I have a lot of players out there with sell on clauses and if I’m not going to get my share I could sell the clauses early for a better deal. Anyone experienced this or can help me make sense of it?
Also, the clause still appears in the transfer centre, even though he’s moved clubs and the clause has been ‘completed’ as such. Who knows, maybe my board will negotiate a buy out and I’ll get my money in the future

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers
