Arsenal, the story of the slightly tall French man who couldn't anymore and the Icelander that came to the rescue.

Finally I managed to grow a pair and make a save with my favourite team.

My Arsenal story.
I must begin with apologizing in advance for my bad English, since it isn‘t my native language, but here goes.
Hey guys, I‘m fairly new to this game, actually only been playing since November last year. I‘ve made a few saves, playing as Ajax, Tottenham, Juventus, Manchester City and a few other teams, and while at it try to learn how to play this game well (I even managed to win the EPL with Tottenham and Manchester City, also the Eredivisie with Ajax, and Serie A with Juventus, all in the first seasons..) I‘ve been an Arsenal supporter as long as I can remember, and tonight I finally deemed my self ready for the challange, to win the league in first season with Arsenal.
I started by getting rid of what I believe are players not worthy to play in the Arsenal uniform.

I know that Santos and Park are new singnings, but sweet Jesus I do not like them none what so ever. I also got rid of Chamakh, just because R.Madrid offered 17 millions pounds for him, I couldn‘t say no. And I‘m glad I got 750K for Fabianski, can‘t stand that man. Bought a youngster from Aston Villa to be the back up goalkeeper. My plan was always to buy an expensive goalie to replace Szczesny, but after his outstanding performance against Liverpool this weekend I decided to give him a chance.
I always buy Sime Vrsaljko, and Mbaye Niang, they both become amazing later on in the game.
The only reason I bought Jelle Vossen is because of his amazing Mental stats, and I really want to see how he‘ll progress along when I train his physicals.

http://i43.tinypic.com/2wgzy11.jpg

And the main reason I bought Gylfi Sigurðsson (besides him being a really good player) is quite obvious, he‘s Icelandic like me. :)

I‘m currently playing Ross Wonder Tactic (4-2-2-2) with 4-5-1 and 4-1-3-2 as backup tactics, I‘ve been getting good results using that tactic, and it‘s also good since I‘ve got quite the injury problem (15 players on the injury list)....

http://i39.tinypic.com/29apcav.jpg

I lost two Friendlys, against Colorado Rapids,2-1 and Barcelona 2-1, I used my reserve team in both games. But after the Friendlys I‘ve played 3 games, first a league game against Tottenham, won it 4-1 (van Persie (12), Mertesacker(33,56), Dawson o.g.(67))-(Jermain Defoe(80)).

Next game was against Udinese in the CL, Best places playoff leg 1, home game. Won it 1-0, with a goal from Mbaye Niang on the 88th minute, otherwise a dull game.

My last game was against W.B.A. and it went 3-0 (Damiao(33,89), Arshavin(57))

I think I‘ll call it a night for now, I‘m going to take my time with this save and carefully make every decission (so there could be a while between my posts sometimes). All I know is that I wont make any more transfers... for now (Dramatic music).

I hope this has been a good reading, and any tips, tricks and criticism is welcomed! :)
Still slepping lazyman? ;)

You seem to have a really big squad. I think you might have a bounch of unhappy players to deal with later on. Where is Wilshere? Injured?

What about the defence? You might score heaps but also concede a alot against teams with fast counter attacks, in terms by having Song high up on the centre.

"Dramatic music" ... love it :)

Wilshere's always injured until mid-Feb.

To OP: You didn't boost the midfield. I recommend Hamsik, and getting rid of Rosicky.

As in the real ... I think he was born injured :)

Real Jack Wilshere had a "setback" so is out probably until May or the rest of the season. Small chance he may make the Euro 2012 squad though apparently.
how did you get damaio for only 20 mil, when i tried to sign him, he had a release clause of £175 mil??
Haha I'm always sleeping! :) I know I've got a big squad, but, Wilshere has 160 days left of injurys, Arteta has 110 days, and Diaby has 60. Koscielny has about 29 days left. Santos, Park and Djourou are all out on a loan so I don't have to worry about them. I bought Emre Can from FC Bayern, because he will become amazing later on (He plays as a DM/D(C)). And Rosicky is injured haha. Also, I'm putting Nangis and Can into the reserves for now. I might sell Rosicky when he returns, and try to get a young midfielder.

I originally offered 15mil for Damaio, but they rejected, so I boosted it upto 20.5mil and they accepted..
Buy.

Hamsik.

Seriously, mate. A 3-man midfield of him, Song and Arteta is devastating.

Good luck with the Gunners! Nice purchase of Damiao there, he's a total beast in the EPL, never fails! Looking forward to see a partnership between him and RVP.
Alrighty, I did what you guys told me to do, I bought Hamsik, for 27.5m haha. I woke up earlier after shift and managed to play 3 games before going back to work.
Oh, and I returned Benayoun, no need for him anymore.
First game was against Udineses in the CL Best Placed playoff leg 2, won it 3-2 (Niang (22,45), Walcott (78))-(Almen Abdi(43,73)), so it went 4-2 for me. I decided to play Niang up front as a target man for this match, and boy did it pay off, he's an absolute beast, I think I'm keeping him on in upcoming CL games. :)

Next game was against Wigan, and it went 4-0 to The Gunners! (Sigurðsson(28), van Persie(pen46), Damiao(52), Vermaelen(55)). :)

And the last game today was against Stoke, won it 3-1. (van Persie (30,61), Mertesacker (45))-(Jones(9)).

Well off to work, have a good one guys!

27.5m, You need to do double shifts at work now :) I'm glad you scored with Sigurðsson. Teams are usually coloured by Nationalities from where the manager is.
Update 2:
After I finally woke up today I couldn‘t wait to get back on FM and carry on with my Arsenal save. So I had some breakfast at 5pm and got busy. And yes Shameless, many many extra shifts from now on! :P
After beating Udinese 4-2 in the play offs for the CL I got drawn into Group H, along with Valencia, Dortmund and LOSC Lille.

First game was against Valencia, which took place at the Emirates. Gylfi Sigurðsson began with scoring a good goal from a free kick on the 11th minute. And on the 53rd he blew a penalty, but seeing he‘s Icelandic I forgave him, haha. Vermaelen came, saw and conquered at the 66th with a header from the penalty spot after a corner from Gylfi.

Next game was against QPR, in the EPL, which I barely won, and to be honest that game was a bit of a letoff, but okay. Bothroyd started by scoring from a corner after a bad defensive mistake by Sime Vrsaljko. I started the game playing a 4-5-1, but in the second hald I changed it to 4-1-3-2, because I got fed up with nothing happening. My fellow countryman was around on the 62nd minute with a brilliant goal from what seemed to be about 35 yards, hitting the crossbar and bouncing of the back of the QPR goalkeeper. Happy times were shortlived though, on the 75th QPR scored another goal, with a corner from Barton and Vangionis‘ header going into the net. I decided to make a substitution, and try to salvage this game.Off went Gervinho and on came Arshavin, and a minute later, on the 84th he scored! And to make it a perfect turnover, who else but Gylfi Sigurðsson scored from a free kick, just outside of the box on the 89th. Bloody brilliant.

Game number 3 was against Burnley in the 3rd round of the League Cup. Easy game, so I allowed the youngsters to play, with Walcott and Persie on the bench. It wasn‘t until the 70th minute that Gylfi scored the first goal. Pheeeewww, I was seriously starting to think I had underestimated Burnley. I substituted Niang off on the 80th, and van Persie came on, got a penalty on the 82nd and of course Captain Vantastic scored! Walcott came on shortly after, for Miyaichi, and scored 3 minutes later, on the 86th. A slightly uncomfortable 3-0 victory.

The 4th game was a game I had been a bit nervous for. Home game against Manchester United. So I had my strongest team on the field, playing 4-5-1, Damiao up top, van Persie on the left wing, Gervinho on the right one. Ramsey and Hamsik on the middle field and Song in the Defensive midfielder. Defence was Ansaldi, Mertesacker, Vermaelen and Sagna, and of course Sczhezsny between the bars. Right on the 7th minutes came a ManUtd goal, Hernández scored with a good shot outside of the penalty box. I got a bit pessimistic and was sure that I would lose the game. Van Persie proved me wrong, with a good header from a corner on the 30th minute. And Damiao put me at some easy when half time came with a goal on the 41st. Gervinho scored a brilliant goal on the 63rd, got the ball from Park just outside my penalty box, ran with it up the whole field and scored from the outskirts of the box, I was estatic! Mr. Vantastic then ensured the 4-1 victory with a brilliant free kick on the 65th, I jumped out of my seat in celebration and did a little victory dance, absolutely brilliant!!

4 days later I had a match against Der DVB in Dortmund. I had to rest Persie and Damiao, switched to the Ross Wonder Tactic (4-2-2-2) and had Walcott as a Poacher up top along with Niang as a Target Man. It was an uneventful game, Götze scored the only goal in the game, an own goal on the 62nd. Terribly bad game, but a victory is still a victory. Only thing that happened in this game was that Der DVB got 9 yellow cards, haha.

The next game, against Bolton in the EPL was a tragedy, nothing except Walcott scoring the winning goal on the 77th happaned. Both teams had 11 shots, Bolton had 1 on target and I got 5, terrible. Although, I‘m absolutely certain that I would have lost the game if Steinsson wouldn‘t have been injured, haha (just saying....).

3 days later another terrible game, this time against Chelsea, with 6 yellow cards, and an own goal from Hilário on the 13th minute ensured me a sloppy win.

I clearly underestimated LOSC Lille, in the next game in the CL. I played an okay team, resting the big names and letting the youngsters play. Jelen scored for Lille on the 31st, and at the moment all I could think about was „Sweet mother of god I am le fucked!“ But then, out of the blue, Mertesacker pushed on, into the offense and scored a brilliant goal from the penalty spot. God I love that man! Ended with a 1-1 draw. A single point is better than no points at all.

2 days later I had a game against Newcastle. Seeing as I rested the big names in the CL game against Lille two days before I was able to form a strong team. Ramsey opened up with a goal on the 28th, and Vermaelen got me 2-0 ahead on the 67th minute. On the 83rd Vrsaljko had a brilliant pass into the penalty box which ended on Tomkins‘ foot and resulted in an own goal. Gutiérrez managed to make it 3-1 on the 87th, but that‘s as close as they got. I was pretty happy with the offence in that game, and the games after. I fiddled a little with the Philosophy and the Strategy buttons, making the philosophy Fluid and Attacking strategy, seems to be working! I got 22 shots, there of 10 on target in the Newcastle game, against 12 shots and 3 on target from the Magpies.

The last game of the night was against The Wolves in the 4th round of the League Cup, played 4-5-1, Damiao on top with Persie and Arshavin on the wings. Persie scored on the 5th and Damiao on the 34th, an easy 2-0 victory. Again I was very happy with the defence, offense was okay. 16 shots and there of 6 on target. The Wolves got 1 shot, which was on target, hahaha.

Now before I wrap this night up, I wanted to show you guys, if any of you are interested how some of my players are doing so far. Also it would be nice to get some tips on how to use Hamsik properly, has an average of 6.8 so far...

Starting with Leandro Damiao:

Mertesacker has been brilliant also!

Captain Vantastic!

http://i41.tinypic.com/2pt8ms9.jpg

Niang has been brilliant in the CL!

http://i42.tinypic.com/24cd0l4.jpg

My hero, and fellow countryman, Gylfi Sigurðsson! :)

http://i42.tinypic.com/nz3jhj.jpg

And last but certainly not least, Sime Vrsaljko, brilliant young Croatian player, and a MUST BUY! Without a doubt, one of the best purchases, performs almost every single time good, and close to never injured!

Before I finish up this update, it would be nice to get your reviews on my updates, is it too much info, too long, or something like that? Anyways, better hit the bed, long day of FM playing tomorrow! :)

Had to play Siegrist instead of Szczesny, who's out for 4 weeks with sports hernia. I also got Laurentinue Branescu on a loan from Juventus, with a possibility to buy him during the loanspell for 2.8m pounds.

Overall a poor game and absolutely terrifying that Captain Vantastic got injured, out for 3-4 weeks with a sprained ankle.

How's this? :)
I would try to break up your story abit and make them into "transfers page", "matchday pages"
