Match Report & Information

Another capacity crowd at the Liberty Stadium. Swansea were 5-4 up from the first leg and extended that to 6-4 after only 11 minutes. West Brom pulled it back to 6-5 before Graham extended the lead to 7-5, then 8-5. An own goal by Foster, his second of the tie made it 9-5 before half-time. Again Hodgson must have thrown a few tea cups about in the dressing room as West Brom pulled it back to 9-7 with 20 minutes to go. Swansea held on for the win which saw them reach the League Cuo Final for the first time in their history. I am very proud and after having to put up with constant cardiff City comments 'we are the only welsh team to win the fa cup', perhaps we will be able to say the same about the Carling Cup.

Match Report & Information

A tactical surprise as Swansea changed to a 4-3-3 formation. Although Scott Sinclair made the last team he had not fully recovered and started on the bench. Stephen Dobbie made a rare appearance having impressed during reserve team games.

Fulham raced into an early lead as Moussa Dembele scored after only 3 minutes after a good exchange of passes with Bobby Zamora. Fulham continued to dominate the game and had six shots on target against Swansea’s one and just before half-time Dembele got his, and Fulham’s second goal.

Nathan Dyer replaced Danny Graham early in the second half as Graham had one of his most disappointing games in a Swansea shirt. Stephen Dobbie missed a penalty for Swansea on 70 minutes and after that Swansea did not look like troubling Fulham. Fulham had won the Carling Cup and Swansea had fallen at the last hurdle but can be proud of reaching the final.

3 Fulham (Dembele)
45+1 Fulham (Dembele)
56 Swansea City (Bodde)

FINAL SCORE: Swansea City 0-2 Fulham
