I have decided to go Wigan Athletic as i think it'd be a challenge going a struggling Premier League team to get them one day playing European football i have a goal to get them into the Europa League places this year maybe ambitious but thats the way i am.

My Ambitions for the 2011/12 Season

Premier League: 6th - 10th
FA Cup: Quarter Final
League Cup: Semi Final or Better

I sold 6 players in all and made a total of £11.5M:

Jordi Gomez £1.4M
Ben Watson £2.3M
Connor Sammon £600K
Piscu £2.6M
Hendry Thomas £2M
Emmerson Boyce £500K
Gary Caldwell £2.2M

I bought 10 players in total totalling £30.5M, the reason i spent so much was because u am focusing my club mainly on youth and knowing the potential in the players i have bought the resale values can greatly exceed the total i spent.

Josuha Guilavogui £2.9M
Loic Nestor £1.8M
Deniz Naki £2.4M
Jack Butland £3M
Lenny Nangis £2.2M
Massadio Haidara £2.7M
Jerson Cabral £1.9M
Mattias Johansson £800K
Gylfi Sigurosson £8.5M
Erick Torres £4.5M

SO here it goes ill post an update 5 games in and see how things are going if you have any views or opinions all welcome................
5 games into the season and things have not been going badly at all here are the results:

VS Villa (H) PRM 3-1 (Rodallega, Moses, Nestor)
VS Wolves (A) PRM 1-1 (Nangis)
VS Yeovil (A) LC 2-0 (Nestor, Wilson)
VS Fulham (H) PRM 3-1 (Maloney, Nestor, Kelly o.g)
VS QPR (A) PRM 2-3 (Kenny o.g, Moses)

Loic Nestor has surprisingly been a major goalscoring threat, the team are scoring a lot of goals from set plays and creating a lot of chances the goals will come soon i can sense it.

We've drew Cardiff at home in the next round of the League Cup so hopefully we get s good result and progress to the next round.

Just before the transfer window closed i made one more signing Fernando from Gremio for £4.4M and looking on selling Diame as i have to many players in the DM position now.

Things are going well now so ill post an update pretty soon.................
Nice, a Wigan story. Will be following this mate. You have made some good signings, good luck!

I'd keep Diame. He's probably wigans best defensive midfielder and him being sold won't go well with the fans
Just finished my 10th game as Wigan manager and its been a good start to the campaign things are going well and the youth approach I've taken is working very well:

VS Cardiff (H) LC 5-1 (Rodallega, Nestor 3, Sigurosson)
VS Everton (H) PRM 4-1 (Wilson 2, Rodallega, Sigurosson)
VS Sunderland (A) PRM 0-0
VS Man City (H) PRM 1-2 (Wilson)
VS Norwich (A) PRM 2-1 (Wilson, Moses)

My defenders have been formidable on the goalscoring front here are my top goalscorers:

Nestor 6
Wilson 5
Rodallega 3
Moses 3

Ive drawn Man Utd away in the next round League Cup, tough draw one I'm rather disappointed about but normally the top teams play a weaker team in this competition so with abit of luck things might go to plan.

Im currently sitting 7th in the premier league with a game on hand that could push me up to 5th place a position id like to hold until the end of the season.

Well I'm delighted with this game and hope it may continue any advice would be grateful and i know its a disappointment in selling Diame but Guilavogui and Fernando will become Leading Holding Midfielders in the future so the decision had to be made but thanks for the advice................
The last 5 games have not really gone to plan we went out of the League Cup but were very unlucky hitting the cross bar twice having a goal disallowed dubiously and creating too many clear cut chances we should have put more away:

VS Man Utd (A) LC 1-2 (Wilson)
VS Blackburn (H) PRM 1-2 (Robinson o.g)
VS Stoke (A) PRM 3-2 (Moses, Nestor, Nangis)
VS West Brom (H) PRM 1-0 (Moses)
VS Arsenal (A) PRM 0-1

Were sitting very comfortably in the league 6th position and have scored a total of 29 goals already this season. I'm very happy with the form of the team at the moment and the board are very happy with my performance with my status being untouchable already at this early stage of the season.

More posts coming soon.........................
This has been a very entertaining season so far for Wigan they've been performing above expectations all season and the results keep coming are way the formation is working a treat and the goals keep flowing:

VS Chelsea (A) PRM 0-2
VS Bolton (H) PRM 2-2 (Rodellega, Moses)
VS Tottenham (A) PRM 1-1 (Rodellega)
VS Liverpool (H) PRM 4-3 (Rodellega 2, Nestor, Moses)
VS Newcastle (A) PRM 3-1 (Fernando, Nestor, Sigurosson)

The recent form in the League has kept us at 7th in a very tight league and with the way were performing i can see us staying there or there a bouts come end of the season.

I'll post a league standing half way through the season to show how I'm getting on and with a few details about the teams stats....................
what kind of tactic do you use?
I'm using a 4-1-2-2-1 standard back 4, anchorman, dlp, ap, two inside forwards on the wings and an advanced forward using a controlling and fluid style......
Heres my final league standings for the 2011/12 season

I had a very successful season here were the competitions and how we did:

Premier League - 7th Position
League Cup - 4th Round
FA Cup - 6th Round

Im rather disappointed about the domestic cup situation as i felt in the FA Cup we had a great chance of going all the way. In the league we were just a few signings away from mounting a serious challenge for CL Football next season but all in all for a team fighting relegation to finish comfortably 7th is a major success.

I am currently beginning the 2012/13 season and believe this can be the year that we finally mount a challenge on European Football i will post all the details of the new season.............
Here is the transfer activity for the 2012/13 season

I will post some results in the next 10 games and let use all know how I'm getting on.............
Great story1 Going to do Wigan as well!
how on earth did you get drenthe on a free?
