Mate, if you want some inspiration, read me Everton story - I sold too many (quality) players to start with, and took some criticism. We were also languishing on 2 points from 10 matches (and out of the League Cup to Huddersfield). But, I never stopped believing we could do well, and in my second year I'm topping my Europa league group.
Your quite right, you are the perfect replacement for Jose!! You just need to believe in your abilities as a manager and tinker with the tactics a bit. You'll do great with this team. BTW - Hamsik and Cavani are top quality players, well signed.

I think you made some very good signings and some okay ones. The very good ones include Hamsik who will fill Lampads boots nicely. Cavani is a very good immediate replacement for Drogba and could be used to perhaps tutor Lukaku who should/could be your long term replacement.
I would disagree with one of the posts that said you need a back up goalkeeper. You have Hilario who can cover for a season until Courtois and Delac return in the second season. Also the right wing is easily fixed if you retrain Studge to play there, as he does in real life. I believe you could have strengthened the right fullback position and i say this because ivanovic is a good cover for both central defence and flank defence. This leaves you with Bosingwa as the only real out and out Fullback, he would probably need a good replacement or back up player.
Dont give up, keep going, work through it and if you get fired then take it as a learning experience.

It's hard to carry on when you have a bad start but it makes the game more interesting when you stick with your team whether you do great or not so well.
