Currently im playing with juve,it's my second season.Im in group with Barca,and i tried many tactics but they are goal machines,in one game i managed to reduce theire posesion ,and my team played very well,but at the end it was 1-1,i was the batter side with about 5-6 shots on target,and they had only 1.my team is:
bufon,chielini,bonuci,lichstainer,aly cisoko,vidal,marchisio,ekdal,kara,felipe melo,pirlo,elia,wiess,griezman,damiao,quaglirela,
i am usualy playing 4-2-2-2 or 4-3-2-1.but still cant beat them,alexis sanchez score goal in every single match.and valdes unlike real life isnt prone to mistakes.
Pull a Milan. Fortunately, FM doesn't allow match fixing, so you don't need to worry about UNICEF...
Play like this:
-----------Damiao (TM)-- Quagliarella (AF or P)-----------
------------------------------------------------------
Griezmann (DW)------------------------------Elia (DW)-
------------------Vidal (DM-D)-Pirlo (DLP-S)------------------
Cissokho (FB-D)-Chiellini (CB-D)--Bonucci (CB-D)--Lichtsteiner(FB-D)--
-----------------------Buffon (GK)---------------------------
Defensive line - Very deep
Team Passing stlye - Short
A PIRLO passing style - long
Tackling - Aggressive
PIRLO = PLAYMAKER
COUNTER ATTACKS - ON
OFFSIDE - OFF
you just need to hope that your defense, which is very good, can steal the ball, and send it upfield as quickly as possible. Fortunately, Barcelona is prone to quick counter attacks. Speed and long passes, unfortunately, is the only thing that can beat Barcelona.
It could be worse though... you could not have Pirlo...
sorry to say but i dont agree with you saying the only way you can beat barca is by sitting back and pumping long balls.. if you allow them to keep the ball all game they will destroy you. the way to beat barca is to take the game to them by launching your own attacks while not pushing to many players forward
This is my method to beat barca...

TEAM = NAPOLI

AMR = ANTONIO VALENCIA
AML = JORDAN AYEW
CF = CAVANI
In defense i'm using mvilla because he has great pace and mental (decision + concentration). Although, mostly barca striker not tall at all.
Barca player have a great passer and great creativity, that's why i'm using 3 tall (190 +) in midfield to win the ball and passs to winger or striker.
In winger i'm using Valencia and Ayew because they have great pace and acceleration, they also has great strength and stamina to keep the ball.
In striker cavani can hold's up ball also great strike that no keeper in the world can save.
This is only my method doesnt mean it's the best. Thanks.
in my save Barca just beat Basel 8-1
Reading this it kinda seems im the only one who takes the game to barca. On football management they're no way near as dominant compared to real life and i have rarely struggled against them i have always felt on FM if you attack an attacking team you find their defence isnt that strong and there will usually be A LOT of goals in your games, messi has never scored against me and the real danger man is always david villa. If you have a strong couple of centre backs and 2 very strong central midfielders you will be fine when playing attacking football against barca. This probably wont help in any way but i just wanted to share this :p
4-2-3-1 deep
Keep your two DM's as Anchor Men, no matter what your assistant says. Now, play your two wingers as support, and you striker and AMC on attack. Use counter attacks, deep, wide width(yes i know what i'm saying).
If you GK and Defence do their job, you may scrap it 1-0, 2-1. 3-2. 4-3. I scrap'd it 4-3, but it was home :D. Had 1-1 on Camp Nou
when i went villereal i lost against barcelona on the first game of the session 9-1 but the game after
barcelona lost against levant 2-1 who i beat 6-0

No no, I've taken the game to Barcelona... With decent results: Champions League final with GOŠK Dubrovnik (4th season). I lost 1-0, with Piqué scoring off a corner in the 89th minute.
I also got a draw against them with Dortmund in the groups... 3rd season.
It occasionally works. However, the only way you can hope to beat Barcelona is if your team is in love with each other, their individual talent either needs to be through the roof, or the team blend needs to be.
Even when i play attacking football,they always find a way to score,in that game possesion was about equal,but even with 1 shot on target they managed to score goal.
tbendis ,that's abbout how i play vs them but still,alexis is beast,he scored goal every single match.
thank you all for help i'll now try with some of your advices.

Oh right well i try and have my team blend together as best as they can so this is probably why i get good results against barca. If i play them again when i get in to the champions league with my swansea side i will post you the results.
i know 9-1 is bad and i had a go at them after the game but they got back up from the game and went on a good unbeaten run
I beat Barca 1-0 twice in Spanish SuperCup Final by using 4-4-1-1 with Sevilla.

I made this tactic for the big teams and as I said, I beat Barca 2 times in one week and both times the result was 1-0. They had the posession in those matches but my two fast wingers with attacking duty were great on counter attacks and that's how we scored those two goals.
