i played barca in the cl final in my second season with lille, villa scored after about 20 minutes and then i went on the attack but nothing happened until hazard stole a late winner after 92 minutes. we went on to win on penalties. i guess we just got lucky but for me taking the game to them did work.

i totally agree with you. taking the game to Barca is the only way your gonna beat them because if u sit back and play on the counter you will be punished
I'll let you know how I get on with Osasuna later in my season....I have to say it is one of the games I am not looking forward too!
come on it isn't that hard,in my first season with united in chl i beat them home and away ! the formation
Akinfeev
Rafael-Vidic-Samba-Vargas
Jones
Kroos-Yttergard Jenssen
Hulk-----------------Di Maria
Neymar(Damiao)
i forgot to say , i played an attacking game ,both away and home !
I have to say I agree partially with the attack strategy however you have to know when to cut your loses. I was Juve in my first season and drew Barca in the group I decided not to focus too much on their players except Messi and Xavi. I played a 2-2-2-3-1 with two CB two WB two CM AMR/L AMC and ST. I immediately went 1-0 down at home but stuck with the tactics as the game was 4 mins in. I replied immediately through a fast attack down the flanks and then killer ball from the AMC. I ended on 60 mins taking a 3-1 lead. However this is where it went wrong. I continued with the same tactic rather than change my very adaptable squad to a more defensive long ball counter tactic. Only a fab penalty save from Buffon won me a point as I drew 3-3. Still pleased to get a point against in doubter the best team in the world though.
So in summary definitely attack Barca they are not used to defending in numbers deep in their half they are vulnerable to quick attacks and their patient play can sometimes cause them to carelessly give the ball away. However when the attack more assertively ie when loosing it is worth getting men behind the ball and countering them because they are brilliant in the edge of your area. Just know when you have scored enough goals and when to defend and counter.
