Started off my first season amazingly, pulling up to 1st in the league until november when my players refuse to get motivated for me (the old ones, I sold Drogba inthe first window), and we are now all the way down to 6th in january. I'll attach my current roster, I'm just not sure what to do to get better results against these lower level teams I keep losing to.

Oh and here have been my fixtures this year. https://imgur.com/a/JDd1g
I'd play like this:

Čech
Ivanović-Luiz-Terry-Cole
-----Meireles-Romeu-----
----------Lampard (DLP)-
Mata----------------Costa
---------Sturridge----------

And long balls on Sturridge or Torres...
im being chelsea in my save. i play short slow passing .

Cech
Bosinga____Terry__Cahill____Cole

Lampard___Mikel___Clifford

Torres____Drogba___Mata
4-5-1 and 4-2-3-1 formations work best with chelsea with my past experiences(Massive Chelsea fan). I would suggest getting back to basics of keeping clean sheets and grinding out draws and wins.
Maybe dont look to be aggessive and too harsh on there performances for the moments and rather look to praise them when you can. If the whole team perform bad but one, two,or three play well, praise those players.
THerefore use a 4-5-1 for a while and set match preperation on teamwork

Hope your form improves and goodluck.
if its lack of motivation im guessing your on about your team talks? if so just try and loose the competativeness, try doing the team meetings also, that can boost moral if done well, and just be harsh when appropreate
Motivating with no past playing experience is hard so try setting it to int.footballer
I agree with @natedogster21, 4-5-1 seems to work best with Chelsea. I also found that setting up a rigid, disciplined system keeps plenty of clean sheets. Make sure Fernando Torres plays upfront on his own as an attacking poacher and he'll score 20+ a season no problem.
