August Update
Europa League 3rd Qual. Round 1st Leg
Jablonec 5-6 Stoke
What a game! Walters scored 5 and Crouchy scored 1. Our defence was very poor but we'll take it. They played pretty well and possibly deserved 6. We got 6 away goals which gives us a great chance of qualifying for the next round. I hope we can form a bit of a better in the 2nd leg.
Europa League 3rd Qual. Round 2nd Leg
Stoke 3-2 Jablonec
Shaky defensively again and I've warned all of the lads not to make a game so hard again. Kenwyne Jones hit 2 and Crouchy hit his second in 2. They took the lead but we went 3-1 up with some good individual performances. They scored straight after our third but it never looked in doubt. 4th Qualifying round next.
Barclays Premier League Matchday 1
Stoke 2-0 Wigan
Really confident performance, helped when Watson was sent off for them with just 90 seconds on the clock. Walters scored just after and then 4 minutes later he scored again. We dominated possession and created chances and could have had 5. Good performance and happy.
Europa League 4th Qual. Round 1st Leg
Neftci 1-4 Stoke
Great performance from all defence, midfield and attack. The defenders took the warning and were solid and only conceded because of a penalty. Fuller scored to make it 1-0 and after their penalty it was quiet. Matty Etherington, Fuller and Crouch all scored to wrap up a comfortable victory. Very happy. Group stages?
Europa LEague 4th Qual. Round 2nd Leg
Stoke 2-1 Neftci
Again deserved but we didn't go about the game in the right way but a win's a win. Crouch scored from a penalty and we got one from an own goal. Shawcross scored an own goal late on but a comfortable victory.
Barclays Premier League Matchday 2
Stoke 0-1 Man City
Failed to make chances count. Hart was great and Crouch, Jones, Whelan and Palacios all couldn't get past him and defensively we fell asleep for their goal, a free-kick going over and Danny tapping in. Wasn't happy and let them know.
9th after 2 BPL games with Liverpool away next
Europa League Group D
STOKE
Sporting
Celtic
Maribor
Carling Cup 3rd Round
Stoke vs West Brom
Game of the month: Jablonec 5-6 Stoke
Player of the month: Jon Walters
So my first couple of months as manager of Stoke and it's gone ok! I've made a couple of signings and the lads are showing me lots of respect. They know if they play badly, they could be fined and dropped. The morale is good, especially as we've got into the group stages of the Europa League. Lets get some results in the league and Carling Cup. Got a meeting with Peter in a couple of days to monitor the progress we've made.
Good story mate , I'm following
1
In my October update (September is soon), I'll have a massive signing to announce, after jiggling with funds, asking for more transfer budgest and selling 2 key players, I managed to sign this guy, he is QUALITY
Update should be around 8 tonight, I'll try and to Sept and Oct, snowed under with revision, how d'you like the story so far?
I'm not saying that I'm giving up on this story. When this one has finished, what team do you want me to write about? If I like a suggestion then I'll do it! Please let me know, want to have chosen by Tuesday

September Update
Barclays Premier League Matchday 3
Liverpool 1-1 Stoke
Great performance from the lads, and in the end it was a game we could have possibly won. Glenn Wheelan scored an absolute stunner from 30 yards to give us a 1-0 lead after just two minutes. We sat back and soaked up pressure and defended ok for most of the first half. Pepe Reina was awesome in goal for them and he made 4 or 5 great saves. We conceded on the hour mark when Gerrard smashed in, it wasn’t great defending from Wilson. All in all, it was a good result and I’m pleased, as are the lads.
Europa League Group D Matchday 1
Maribor 0-2 Stoke
This was meant to be a really tight game but we were honestly superb. We passed the ball about really well and created lots of chances and should of got more than 2. Cameron Jerome and Pennant scored for us, Cammy playing really well all game. Asmir had to make one or two saves but nothing major. Three points for the group stages and away, I’m thrilled.
Carling Cup 3rd Round
Stoke 3-0 West Brom
What a game! Another one we dominated from start to finish. They played a full strength side and I made 5/6 changes. Jermaine scored 2 in 2 games and Kenwyne Jones scored twice. Crouchy missed a penalty but I don’t mind…we’re through!
Barclays Premier League Matchday 4
Wolves 2-1 Stoke
This was a disappointing result because we dominated the game and we were very wasteful. Defensively we were awful first 20 minutes and by 40 minutes they were 2-0 up. 1 minute after their second Kenwyne scored but it wasn’t enough. We should have at least got a point but they won’t care at all!
Europa League Group D Matchday 2
Stoke 2-1 Sporting
Best result of the season. They were favourites but we started blisteringly and hit the bar. I was shocked when they took the lead but it was poor defending. We hit back immediately when Ricardo Fuller ran 60 yards and finished wonderfully, it was a great goal. In the second half, corner came in, Shawcross hit the bar and Fuller tapped in. Top of the group with 6 from 6, Celtic also have 6 and they’re next at Celtic Park.
Not a bad month. We did better in cup competitions than the league (we’re 13th). Should have got something against Wolves which annoyed me but the draw at Liverpool was great.
Player of the month: Jermaine Pennant
Game of the month: Stoke 2-1 Sporting
So, I've got my meeting with Peter today. Some of the results were poor but some were good so I don't know what he's going to say!! I need to keep cool. (Knock, knock) I look up and Peter's standing in the doorway.
"Ok to sit down?"
"Yeah sure."
He pulled up a chair to my desk.
How's this month gone then?"
"Not too bad. It's been a mixed bag really. There was a great 1-1 draw away with Liverpool, we won both of our Europa League games against Maribor and Sporting comfortably but we lost to Wolves in a game we should of won. Another plus, we are through to the 4th round of the Carling Cup."
"I agree the results aren't too bad. I'm slightly disappointed at the loss to Wolves but every team has to lose so I'll let it slip. I'm going to be at training tomorrow, that ok?"
"That's fine! The players will love it."
"I'll see you tomorrow then, you get off home!"
He stood up and left. Wasn't too difficult. With him at training tomorrow, the lads better be on best behaviour!
