This is my 1st post on this forum, I been looking on this site for a long time and have always enjoyed reading peoples stories on their FM, it is quite strange really, how you can find it interesting from other peoples FM stories.

I decided to start a season with Bayern for 2 reasons, I have never managed a team in Germany, the league is highly competitive and anyone can lose to anyone so I was up for that challenge.

Other then that I wanted to finally manage a European giant which was outside of England, I chose Bayern as I love the German league and the history, structure of Die Bayern.

I am currently in April 2012, my 1st season has gone extremely and surprisingly well. I am top of the Bundesliga, semi final of the Champions league and in the final of the German cup. This is how I got here, includes luck of the draw.

Season Budget was 8 Million with 11 Million with a budget adjustment if needed.

Transfers:
Iker Muniain 20 Million (48 Month Installments)
Sedou Keita 2.4 Million - Transfer listed
Afellay 1.8 Million - Transfer listed
Crespo - Free
Emre Can promoted to the 1st team
Matt Hummels 35 million from rivals Dortmund (The Board decided to buy him after I stated I wanted the next best German centre back. January signing.

Shaqiri to sign automatically after the 1st season due to signing in real life in January.

Fans did not like the signing but he is growing on them. The only outward signing was Gustavo on loan following a bust up involving being fined after a horror tackle.

Formation at home is 3-4-3 training both Rafihna and Lahm as defensive midfielders, while training Muller as a centre midfielder.

My away form took till febuary to start being decent, my away from was pretty poor, but to be expected in a competitive league.

My home form has been phenomenal, results between september 18th till march have all been won by a margin minimum of 3 goals in the league.

I lost my 1st game to Dortumund at home 1-0 to a Kagawa screamer, and beat the rivals away 3-1 involving a Lahm double and Olic finish.

Best result so far has been 4-0 against Chelsea in the second leg at fortress Allianz arena. Great come back after finishing the 1st leg 2-1 losers following a late Van Buyton header.

So the season summury so far is that I am top of the Bundesliga, 6 points clear with a crunch game vs second place Stuttgart to come.

A champions league semi final vs Real Madrid and a German cup final vs Hertha

My goal for Bayern is to build a passing style team who can dominate consistantly in Germany and Europe, buying youth players as my main focus.

I also want to make the 343 formation the Philosophy at the club, when this is done I will see where my next story ends up, but a big long term future at the Allianz arena is the goal to build my passing Bayern team.

When I finish the season I will come back and let you all know how I got on. Screenshot to follow!

Thanks for reading :)
1st season completed.

Season achievements:

Champions league Semi Finalists, losing 4-3 on agg to Real Madrid. 2-1 down in the 1st leg away and drew 2-2 at the Allianz arena after being 2-0 up. Gutted they I could not make the final for the boys.

Bundesliga league Champions! I lost to Gladbach (Would say their longer name but I don't know how to spell that. I thought we was going to bottle it but we managed to dig in and win it at home the next game seeing as a draw was enough!

German cup champions 3-1 win over Hertha after going 1-0, very happy to bring the domestic double to Bayern in my 1st season.

Good season for me in my 1st season in charge bringing in some success.

Positives - Iker Muniain looking to be a absolute beast
- Awesome home form
- Great character in second leg ties in the UCL

Negatives - Poor peformances away from home
- Robben constantly having a niggling injury in his knee
- Mario Gomez, even though scored 16 goals that season, I feel that he could of done alot more.

Next season transfer activity and goals to follow for next preseason.
Pre season 2012 and transfer activity as well as tactics.

I decided to make a 3rd formation which also has 3 at the back, I call it the 3-5-2 with 1 midfielder behind the 2 strikers.

I also have finalised pre season fixtures including tours to Japan and China, coming back to England to face Tottenham and Wigan.

The boys are back and training hard, Sedou Keita and Affelay though have been put on the list due to high wage and demand for football.

Transfer activity has been huge this summer, aqquring many signings, though Bayern have made only 2 clear 1st team signings this season which includes the experiences Park Ji Sung for 9.5 million pounds and one of South America's finest strikers in Leandro Damiao for 18 million pounds.

It is known that Bayern wanted a right midfielder to play his defensive winger system, and the work rate and effort Park has made him the perfect candidate to fill the role.

Mario Gomez went 2nd string due to the blistering form of Olic last season, sadly Olic opted to leave Bayern after rejecting any new deal. The Brazilian striker Damiao is very highly rated in South America, he possesses the right attributes to play off the shoulder alone or with a player, the complete forward which Manager Adam Vincent holds in very high regard.

Bayern also wanted to increase depth at the club, but wanted to do this with younger players and made some fantastic signings including the likes of Joul Valencia, Couthino, Romario, Kalala, Karomoja, Benzia and Joinville.

The 8 signings have increased depth in the team.

Meanwhile Bayern announce link with German div 2 side Duisburg

Bayern also have signed Shaqiri after agreeing a contract before hand.

The outs of the club have not been so severe after Robben penned a new 5 year deal, with Emre Can also earning a professional contract.

Many loans have been agreed this season seeing Valencia, Emre Can moving on loan to Duisburg with Alaba grabbing 1st team experience at Benfica.

Meanwhile Gustavo has agreed to stay and will be more used this season due to the way his style is more useful for my system, he is willing to play games at the back.

Couthinho and other summer youngsters will be in the 1st team as I feel they have something to prove while other players need competitive match experience.
Now the next season is underway and the 1st game is against Werder Bremen the 3-5-2 system is used, with Iker Munian, Ribery, Muller, Park and Domiao all out for the game, youngster Benzia is set to make his debut. I will give you updates on how my next season goes. Good luck with yours too!
I have used a screen shot on my 3 formations I work on with team prep and the 3 I use the most. The formation away is the one I use away and the other 2 are used at home depending who I am playing against and how they set up.

Here is my squad, this excludes players gone off loan and the very promising youth players in my u23 squad.

And here is my 3 formations. (forget about the injuries I am using the best starting 11 available to me that excludes form)

As you can see Ribery and Robben can't play my system, so they are used with my tradition 343 formation where they drop narrow and allow the wingers to overlap. These 2 are worldclass and when these 2 actually manage fitness then they are used in that formation.

Also the 1st game result to come.
Here is my 1st league result of the season and I am suprised of 3 things.

How quickly the new formation worked (the formation with 2 strikers and one behind them.

Benzia quickly adapting and scoring 2 goals against a good team.

And the scorline and dominance of the game.

I hope you enjoyed my second season screen shots, I will keep you updated what goes on through out my season, maybe around January or another update at the end of this season!

Thanks for viewing guys, would love some comments!
The squad is completely the same but a deadline day signing seeing Dejan Lovren join the club for 14 million pounds in 48 month installments.
Here is a fantastic result, or best result so far, I have been drawing many games this season, including the 1st 4 group stage game sin the UCL, I had Juventus and Zenit left and had to beat them both and did, Damiou turning into a match winner.

18 goals in 26 games for the lad.

Brilliant win, getting alot of goals is a good barrier to break.

one q, your pictures, getting em fullscreen when you click em, do you do anything special to get that? mine will only go half way compared to yours. Tried tinypic as you use too, but still same result
Do you use f12 via steam pictures? For the pics what are cropped I did that via paint before uploading them!
I have just started a new game with bayern also as I have never managed in the German League before and felt like testing myself. My season has only just kicked off though and I'm about 5 games into the league.

As you know the squad depth of Bayern isn't great so there is a need for 4 or 5 players to come and to provide cover.

I decided to go for some quality youth that I felt could grow into the squad over the coming seasons.
Kara - £1m
Rubin Yttergard Jenssen - £1m
Sime Vrsaljko - £1.4m
Ibrahim Afellay - £1.7 (although not young, provides exxcellent cover for ribery and robben)
Jelle Vossen - £1.2m

I haven't been beating yet in all competitions and the team seem to be playing well which is a good sign. Kara has settles in right away and put in some good performances each team he has been on the pitch. Afellay has been great, scoring a few goals and making some for Gomez and co. Jenssen hasn't played yet as he got injured on international duty for 3 months but he did look sharp in pre season. Vrsaljko has been steady at right back when I have rested Rafinha nothing outstanding though but im sure it will come. Jelle vossen hasnt scored but I have signed him in previous saves and has became lethal in the 2nd season which Im hoping for in this game.

I aim to try and sign a quality centre back in january ans I have looked at Hummels and Subotic from Dortmund. Are you able to buy him in installments even if you dont have the transfer budget for it?

Enjoyed reading your story as we both hadnt managed in the German league before.
Hopefully we can keep each other up to date and bounce ideas off one another. ;)

Cheers
