The Introduction
Melbourne Victory FC is an Australian professional football (soccer) club based in Melbourne, Victoria, that plays in the A-League. Founded in 2004 after the announcement of a revamped domestic league in Australia, which saw the National Soccer League disbanded in 2003 and replaced by the A-League, Melbourne Victory has led the A-League in attendances every year since the 2006-07 season and is also considered the most successful club domestically in the A-League, having won two A-League Championships and two Premiers Plates.
Melbourne Victory have completed the Premiership-Championship double twice, winning both during the 2006–07 and 2008–09 seasons and is also the first and only A-League club to complete the domestic treble, winning the (now defunct) Challenge Cup, Premiership and Championship, all in the 2008–09 season.

Running of the club
Ive taken charge of Melbourne victory with them in a pretty secure financial position but ill be looking to Release or mutually terminate contracts of those no longer need at the club, by doing this will give me more room to manuvore in the transfer market, ill also be looking to make a profit every month

within the next 3 years ill be hoping to raise the stature of the club with positive results domestically while also making our stamp in the Asia scene

Philosophy
after having a look at the squad at my disposal ill be looking to employ my usual 4-3-3 and 3-4-3 formations.
main focus with these tactics will be :
    short sharp passing
      Slow build up play
    Quick ball recession

ill be looking to bring in quality young players to build for the future whilst trying to bring in a few experienced heads to help the kids along
Transfer Update

im very happy to have signed former spain international Guti as i think he will give us the real quality we need to make the next level. ill be also looking for Guti to do some tutoring over the coming months

lol why not play long balls on the counter like Melbourne have played during their entire existence
Looking forward to following this mate! Unfortantly i think Sydney FC will win lol... Nice signing you grabbed there will you play him in the CM with Harry or what is your plan?

I wonder if this will end in the same contriversal way that the real one finished with this year lol.

Good luck and keep posting!
@ OliverAUFC : i refuse to play long balls as it only gives the ball back to the opposition which in my eyes seems pretty pointless :D

@ promitch : ive got a few more pretty key signings which ill be showing in my next update tomorrow so stay tuned :D.

tactics wise ill be playing Guti in the middle of midfield while playing Kewell on the right of a front 3. ill also post my tactics and formations tomorrow
Cool sounds good. I can never get any real good signings in the A league but i usually sign Carney has he only asks for $900 a week to go back to Sydney which is crazy he could get more.

In one of my saves in the first year Victory won the club world cup which i thought was a massive effort lol.
@promitch MV aren't in the CWC or ACL in the first year.

@toonman I'm just messing around at MVs boring Muscat style long ball football.

True must of been second then, was early on anyways.
looking forward to see who you manage to sign and things, havent seen a good Australian league story before & ive never managed in the A-League so its all new to me :) GoodLuck.
Im 3 seasons in with Adelaide United and Melbourne have struggled. They've had 5 managers in 3 years, always opting to promote their Youth Coach to Manager. Theyve finished out of the finals in the last 2 seasons.

With Adelaide Ive won 2 A-League titles using the tactic of signing young players with big potential. This saves a lot of wages, which keeps the board happy.

The best was Enzio Boldejwin from FC Utrecht. Got him cheap and he won Foreign Player of the Year at age 19 in his first year. Then the board sold him behind my back for $2.5 million.

The big performers are Adelaide, Melbourne Heart and Brisbane in my save.
Transfer Summary

im pleased with the 3 players i was able to bring to the club with a mix of youth and experience

Guti- Free transfer
Sol Campbell - Free transfer
Luigi Bruins - Free Transfer

Tom Pondeljak - Free Transfer
Daniel Young - Free Transfer

as the season goes on ill be taking a good look at my youth products and release any player who does not have the required amount of potential

next update after pre season
Nice story so far mate, hell of a signing in Guti! The best of luck.
Great signings! Good story! Keep it up :)
