Transfers reducing price

When i look at a player on its overwiew screen it has a value
On the reports screen it has another price which is around how much the club will let him go for (often double the value).
This means i hve to pay lots of money more than i want.
So how can i pay less, tks

You could cheat by taking over as manager of the club that owns the player you want and accept a low bid then retire. You could also use FMRTE to edit the players contract so he's contracted to you.

Doing these sort of things ruin the challenge and fun of the game though and I don't recommend it.
