Hi just wondering is there any other way that I can find players that will sign for my Blue Square Bet North team without using an imported short list.
I have 110,000 players in My Database and only 25,274 (8,881 Being realistic players)in scouting knowledge. So there's approx 85,000 players that could potentially play for my team. I have players loaded from Eastern European countries
How do I narrow it down to only search for realistic players that will join my team?
the only way to do it is import them into the game and have your ass man filter that out for you.

How do you do this? i am having the same problem trying to filter all the players who are and aren't interested in my club! i have loads of country's loaded
Ok, this has become slightly more complicated in the new FM but it's still easily do-able.
1. Search within GS for all the players that match your criteria
2. Save the shortlist as (for example) "strikers"
3. In FM, go to (player name), shortlists, shortlist
4. Click on the shortlist drop down menu on the right hand side beneath the "ask assistant to exclude" box & then "new shortlist"
5. Name it "strikers" to match your original GS shortlist
6. Click on the shortlist drop down menu again, this time click "import shortlist" & choose your GS shortlist
7. All the players from your GS shortlist will now show up in your FM shortlist, click on the "unrealistic transfers" box in the "ask assistant to exclude" box.
8. Click on the shortlist drop down menu & then "new shortlist"
9. Name it "players that will sign"
10. Go back to your "strikers" filtered shortlist
11. Click on the tick next to the top player on the list, scroll to the bottom of the list, hold down the SHIFT key & click on the tick next to the bottom player on the list, all players in the shortlist should now be highlighted.
12. Right click on any player, hover over the "lists" menu, then hover over the "move to shortlist" menu, then click on your "players that will sign for me" list.
13. Click on the shortlist drop down menu again, this time click "save shortlist as"
14. Click on the shortlist drop down menu again, this time click "default shortlist"
15. Click on the shortlist drop down menu again, this time click "clear shortlist"
16. On GS click the "load shortlist" button
17. Select your "Players that will sign for me" list
That's it, you have a list of players in GS that meet your criteria & are prepared to sign for you, just don't forget to delete the shortlist from within FM or you could end up with news items for every single player on that shortlist.
