I'm relatively new to FM but decided to start a story with the little experience I have. Everyone else seems to be very familiar with game so I thought it'd be a good idea to start a story from a newbie's point of view.

I'll be taking on the role as Manager of Manchester United as it's a club I've grown up supporting. I'm aware it's a little over-saturated (in terms of United story's) but I couldn't see myself managing anyone else.

I'll be looking to buy and develop young talents, as well as developing the young ones already in the squad.

Pre Season

Went very well. Won every match while keeping a clean sheet in all, with the highlight beating Fiorentina 4-0.
I was particularly pleased with my young talent on show such as: Welbeck, Smalling, Cleverley and Pogba.

Transfers

In

Eden Hazard £34m (ouch!)

Out

Thomasz kuszczak

Also listed are: Berbatov, Owen and Park
Community Shield

United v City

4-4-2
De Gea, Smalling, Evans, Vidic, Evra, Valencia, Cleverley, Carrick, Nani, Rooney, Welbeck

Game started well with Smalling opening up the scores 7 minutes in with a spectacular volley on the edge of the box from a corner making it 1-0.

The game then opened up a bit with both teams having a number of chances but neither finding the net.

Then drama as Yaya Toure got sent off in the 70th minute for City which left them with 10 men on the pitch!

I then changed to a 4-3-3 counter formation, bringing Hazard on for Nani, inviting the pressure from a 10 man City side hoping to catch them on the break. Which worked perfectly as after a nice link up with Rooney Hazard netted his first goal for the club in the 85th minute, making him an instant hit with the fans.

FT 2-0

Delighted with that win as it's stamped our early authority over what I expect to be our closest title contenders :D

Player morale is high, onto the season!
Good result against city and i will be following your story to see how you get on

Cheers. I'm familiar with your story actually as I've been following it for a few days while looking for tips.

Thanks all, updates will come later in the day after work!
Good luck man. Also got a United story here. Hope you get the taste of success. Great getting Hazard early, I missed out on him and he turned out great at City.
10 Match Update

Newcastle A 0-1 Smalling(19)
A good start to the season winning away to a tough side, I was pleased.

Stoke H 1-0 Cleverley(9)
Wasn't pleased with the result as we should be winning by more at home, missed a lot of chances but a win's a win.

Fulham A 1-2 Ferdinand(18) Rooney(24) Vidic(R)
Despite the close score line I was happy with the performance as vidic got sent off in the 43rd minute leaving us under pressure.

Norwich H 4-0 Nani(3) Valencia(19) Cleverley(43) Evans(90)
The first big result of the season, very pleased with the performances all-round and sent out a statement to the rest of the league!

A.C Milan H (European Cup) 4-3 Rooney(3,40,46) Nani(72)
What a game! I feel we dominated and deserved the win but Milan definately made it an interesting affair with a 7 goal thriller. Rooney with the hat-trick.

Blackburn A 1-1 Rooney(34)
My winning streak's ended with a disappointing performance and a disappointing result, losing out on vital points.

Coventry H (League Cup) 5-0 Anderson(9) Ferdinand(45) Young(57) OG(59) Evans(86)
Gave the young'uns a run out here sticking to true United tradition, very pleased with the performance, the future's looking good!

Aston Villa H 4-0 Rooney(10,38,45) Nani(75)
A great result and a fantastic performance again from Rooney with his 2nd hat-trick of the season!

Partizan A (European Cup) 1-1 Giggs(35)
Slightly disappointed with this result but I'm sure we can do the business at home in the return leg. Can always rely on Giggsy though!

Everton A 0-4 Rooney(35,69) Valencia(47) Hazard(56)
A sensational away win to a tough side! Rooney with the double and a rocket of a free-kick from Hazard from the edge of the box were the highlights here.

That's it for updates for now. I'll be updating every 5 matches from now on but while making sure to update the big games seperately
On another note, I've noticed people putting some sort of red FM12 banner with a subject in it before each post in their own threads. Anyone know how I'd do this?
