I’m managing a low level club and one of my best player just been snatched away. Deal accepted by the chairman and I can’t do anything about it. He was my first team player and not transfer listed. How can I prevent this in the future?

Many thanks.
unfortunately, i don't think there's anything you can do to prevent that from happening :weep
you could only offer the player a new improved contract when the offer from the other team gets accepted by your chairman, but again if the team is in higher leagues it is unlikely he will stay with you.

I think (I will probably get corrected) that they accepted due to there evaluation for the player and the excess amount the team buying offered for him. Also, it may be due to a poor financial position or greedy board members :|

you can make him 'hate' the team that the offer is accepted from.

you could put the asking price as unspecified, change him to indispensible to club and then put reject all offers. That usually works for me, havent had an offer on someone with those settings accepted yet by the chairman, but i dont know if this will definitely work.

I did put him under indispensable to club but with a price though. I thought a 50m pounds price tag plus 'reject all offer lower than 50m' should be enough to put everyone off. Also, they only paid a mere 1.1m for him. From now on I’ll try to put the entire 1st team under 'reject all offers" and hope they'll stay.

Thanks a lot. I really appreciate everyone's help ^_^
With FMM(Fm Modifier), you can go to a players 'personal' stuff. where it says which club he loves and such.

you just choose one, usually 'unkown', and then 'edit' it. choose disliked club, search for that club, and then add a number 0-100, out 100 for pure hatred.

and then save.

otherwise u can also increase ur clubs reputation with FMM. and in that way he would stay with your club.

i think when you put a price no matter what it is it makes it more likely to happen, duno why just seems like that to me. But i think the reject all offers and unspecified sorts it, fingers crossed.

Setting a player to reject all offers doesn't help the board will still accept the offer if they want to. What usually works for me is to immediately offer the player a new contract making him a key player and offereing the highest wage your board will allow.

Hope it helps

If you manage lower team this think can happen, because your chairman feel that offer to good for refuse...
The simple step is using FM Modifier edit your finance.
I hope this help you!

i managed low rep club and i did that like this:

NEVER put unspecified price.
always above 50m
reason:when i put unspecified, than other club offer sum that is near player's value.and when i put high(>50m) then they offer some more money.

NEVER reject all offers
reason: player is unhappy because i do not let him moving clubs.
always listen the offer and make new with again >50m
than they stop negotiations.

and if the board accepts,he's out.very important to set big asking fee, because it is very important to get as much money as you can.

i do not know how will this work for you,but i managed Barnet, and in 8 or 9(i can not remember) years i lost only a few players like this.

also, i remember one year, some club offered me about 700.000 for one of my best players(his value was about 400.000),board accepted.then i tried like this:
i offered him to clubs for 1.5m ,and Man City offered 1.5m,than he accepted offer from Manchester City.you can also try this.
