I decided to take on a new challenge and Take a club from England's lowest division and Build them into a force to be reckoned with! After looking at the teams I decided that Vauxhall Motors was the Team I shall dedicate my Managerial career to. I picked them as the Media had them down for relegation and the budget was very small. I thought this would add to the challenge! Let's see how we get on.

Facts about Vauxhall Motors
- Never won a trophy
- Best finish was 2nd in Englands 7th tier
- Semi professional club
- Stadium name....Rivacre Park

Pre-season and Transfers

After assessing the squad and with help from the reports of my assistant it was clear that New signings had to be made.I wanted to bring in a new Goalkeeper, Two extra Defenders and Two Strikers. The midfield was decent so I wanted to focus more on other areas first. I was given No transfer budget and only 2.4k wage. The club was already spending 1.9k on its current players.

Transfers In
Ben Townsend - (RB) - Free
James Gilpin - (GK) - Free
Aaron Carter - (CB) - Free
Donal O'Sullivan - (ST) - Free
Aaron Farrell - (ST) - Free
Luke Morgan - (MR) - Free

I wanted to play a 4-4-2 system with a Target man and a pacey Striker. Donal O'Sullivan is 203cm tall so was the ideal choice for the target man.Aaron Carter is a pacey striker so I snapped him up for free. Overall I was very satisfied with my activity in the Transfer Market.

Pre-Season
Vauxhall Motors 2-0 Kendal Town
Vauxhall Motors 4-0 North Ferriby
Vauxhall Motors 0-2 Tranmere Rovers
Vauxhall Motors 1-1 Hayes and Yeading
Vauxhall Motors 1-2 Ashton Utd
Vauxhall Motors 1-1 Bromley

A decent Pre-season with some mixed results. With the league soon approaching I am aiming for a play-off stop. I think that we have improved the squad during pre-season and if we can string a run together, We may just get lucky. If the squad needs a few tweaks throughout the season I will look at other Free Transfers.

I will do month by month updates and the first one should be done for later today. I hope you enjoy this and hang on, We are going on a ride!
Good luck mate, I am currently managing Eastwood Town in League One. I used Vauxhall on FM11 and managed to get them to the champions league, some fond memories for me.

Thanks Mate!

The only reason I started this story was because I was inspired by your current one with Eastwood! I probably won't be able to replicate your achievement but I will give it a try!
you could win the FA Trophy and trump mine ... never been able to win that thing :(

August

Vauxhall 2-0 AFC Telford
Josh Wilson '4
Aaron Carter '76
Obi Anorou '79

The opening day of the season seen Vauxhall welcome promotion challengers AFC Telford to Rivacre Park. The motormen were given little chance by the bookies before the game. They missed a great chance from the spot early in the game but Managed two late goals with a Header from Center back Aaron Carter and a tap in for Obi Anorou to give the motormen a dream start to the season.

Vauxhall 1-2 Worcester
Aaron Farrell '11
Josh Wilson '20

Vauxhall were brought back down to earth with a home defeat to Worcester. In what turned out to be a failry even game with both teams forced to shoot from range, The game was decided by an early own goal when a shot from range deflected off Wilson sending Gilpin the wrong way. Farrell Scores his first goal for the club.

Stalybridge Celtic 1-2 Vauxhall
Aaron Farrell '30 '33

The first away game of the season saw Vauxhall triumph over Stalybridge with a brace from Aaron Farrell. Stalybridge had managed to take an early lead but the motormen fought back and two quick goals before halftime shifted the momentum and the saw their lead out.

Vauxhall 2-0 Guiseley
Keith Smith '6
Aaron Farrell '45+2

A dominant display seen Vauxhall run out comfortable winners against a Guiseley side ravaged by injuries. Keith Smith scored a curling effort from 20 yards early into the game which settled the motormen. The crowd got behind the team and were repaid when Aaron Farrell walked through the Guiseley defence to tuck the ball into the bottom corner and secure the points.

Workington 0-0 Vauxhall

Vauxhall Motors travelled to league leaders Workington with Little chance of walking out with a result. The bookies had said that Vauxhall faced "The Impossible" and it was a matter of how much Workington would score. The game itself was a bore with each keeper having little to do but the Vauxhall fans will travel back to Cheshire knowing that it was a valuable point gained.

Vauxhall 3rd, 3 points behind 1st

August was a good month for the club and it sent a message to other clubs that we are not a team that should be underestimated. My highlight of the month was beating AFC Telford as they will be looking to win the league this season and I expected to get thumped in the game.

Player of the month- I am giving player of the month to Aaron Farrell. He managed 4 goals in 5 games which got us vital points. I really enjoy his link up with Donal O'Sullivan as he makes a lot of runs off him and his pace is often too much for defenders.
Great story!!! Try to sign Jamil Adam as he bangs in the goals in the lower leagues

Tried but he decided to go to a different team :/

September

Alfreton 0-2 Vauxhall
Donal O'Sullivan '20
Josh Wilson '90+2
Donal O'Sullivan
A strong preformance away from home earned the motormen another 3 points. Donal O'Sullivan scored his first goal for the club with a header from close range before later being taken off injured,However we were told that Manager Dean Byrne was only being cautious. Josh Wilson completed the scoring with a late penalty.

Vauxhall 2-2 Harrogate
Aaron Carter '78
Aaron Farrell '83
Harrogate were the visitors in what turned out to be the lowest attendance recorded at Rivacre park. Those who did pay for their ticket were not dissapointed. Harrogate will be kicking themselves for not taking all 3 points after going 2 goals up early on. Aaron Carter scored his second of the season with a close range header. Aaron Farrell sent the fans into ecstasy when he dribbled through the defence and fired the ball into the top corner to give the motormen a hard earned point.

Blyth 3-1 Vauxhall
Luke Morgan '8
A tired looking Vauxhall side took to the field against high flying Blyth. It was the side from Cheshire that took the lead when Luke Morgan scored a free kick early on. Blyth then controlled the rest of the game and scored two before half time and then one late on.

FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round

Vauxhall 2-0 Radcliffe Boro
Obi Anorou '45
Obi Anorou '71
The first cup game of the season seen lower league team Radcliffe Boro travel to Rivacre park. Vauxhall controlled the game from start to finish and should have scored more. Obi Anorou scored a brace which sees Vauxhall in the pot for the draw for the next round.

Player of the Montth - Aaron Carter

Vauxhall 3-2 Boston Utd
Josh Wilson (pen) '12
Aaron Farrell '60 '67
A brace from Aaron Farrell help secure 3 points against Boston Utd in what turned out be be an end to end game with goals galore. Some pundits reckon it will be tough to beat Farrell's first goal which is a sure contender for goal of the season.

Vauxhall 3-3 Colwyn Bay FA Cup 3rd round Qualifying
Craig Mahon '8
Obi Anorou '20
Aaron Marsh '55
The FA Cup saw an exciting game at Rivacre park as neither team thought about defending. A young Vauxhall side led the game three times but were unable to stop a resilient Colwyn side. Young Center back Aaron Marsh made his debut and managed a goal.

Colwyn Bay 1-4 VauxhallFA Cup 3rd round Qualifying replay
Craig Mahon '14
Josh Wilson '33
Aaron Farrell '71'78
The motormen continued their adventure in the cup dismissing Colwyn at the second attempt. It was a fine preformance which seen Aaron Farrell grab another two goals.
Vauxhall will now play Boston Utd in the FA Cup 4th round Qualifying

Vauxhall 1-0 Hinckley
Donal O'Sullivan '35
A game with little chances saw its only goal when Donal O'Sullivan who can play both Center back and Striker fired home a header from close range. Their will likely be banter in the motormens changing room as Donal O'Sullivan managed only 1 goal in 8 games as a striker and now has 1 in 1 as a center back!

Boston Utd 1-0 Vauxhall FA Cup 4th Round Qualifying
A dissapointing encounter between two evenly matched sides seen Boston prevail with the help of a late penalty. The Motormen didnt turn up today and Boston fully deserved their place in Round 1.

Gainsborough 4-2 Vauxhall
Craig Mahon '23
Aaron Farrell '34
After the disspointing result in the cup, Vauxhall seemed sorry for themselves as they took to the field against Gainsborough.Another poor defensive display meant that the motormen would travel back to Cheshire empty handed. It was also Manager Dean Byrne's Birthday.

Vauxhall 3-1 Hyde
Own Goal
Aaron Farrell '42'66

Rivacre park hosted Hyde as Vauxhall looked to put a halt to their recent form. Nerves were eased early on when an unfortunate own goal handed the motormen the advantage. Aaron Farrell finished the game off with a brace.
