A young budding manager with 0 experience was handed the England job, at the age of 25, the youngest English manager to date.
Having qualified for the Euros with ease we had faced 3 tough friendlies against Spain, Belgium & Argentina, we began with a 1-1 draw with the spaniards followed up by 2 victories.
In these friendlies i decided to use players whom i'd never used before - one being young Centre Back Ryan Bennett of Norwich City, a scout told me he was ready for International Football after his appearances for the 21's. So i threw him in at the deep end against Spain where he claimed man of the match, we haven't looked back since, its fair to say he's been a revelation at the heart of my defence. I included him in my 23 man squad. He was not the only shock inclusion, i had taken this opportunity to give other younger players a chance in place of players such as John Terry, Frank Lampard, Theo Walcott so i called up Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain of Arsenal, Matty Phillips of Blackpool. My favoured line up being a 4-2-3-1
Joe Hart;
Kyle Walker, Ryan Bennett, Rio Ferdinand, Ashley Cole;
Scott Parker, Steven Gerrard
Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wayne Rooney, Ashley Young;
Danny Welbeck
What a performer Welbeck was in the group stages which we topped in a group that had included France, Denmark and Ukraine, we had faced Germany in the Quarters which we won 2-1 with a late late Welbeck goal, Welbeck was the hero so far of this tournament leading us to glory. In the semis it was a different man who led us to potentinal glory - Ryan Bennett scoring 2 goals from 2 corners against the Spanish in a game we won 2-0 with 3 shots on goal compared the Spains 12, good omen as England have been the most efficient team in this years Euros? We were completely outplayed.
This lead us to the final where i had decided to go all out attack - which served me well we had defeated France 5-0, yes okay they had a man sent off in the opening 20 minutes, but it was a great opportunity for me to give Matty Phillips his debut - he rewarded my faith with the fifth goal, Welbeck had ended the tournament with 6 goals. I was the national hero, leading England to glory.
Soon after the Spurs job had become available and i had been trusted with a £35m transfer budget and £1.4m wage budget with premier league glory the objective i had signed the likes of:
Asmir Begovic, Jose Angel, Chris Samba, Ryan Benntt, Iker Muniain, Lukas Podolski & Danny Welbeck. Come January we were struggling in 6th place, so i decided to bring in Shinji Kagawa. We have now won the Carling cup, defeating Man United 3-2, however we are out of the FA Cup being knocked out in the fourth round to Crystal Palace, despite this our league standing has improved and we are now sitting in 4th place 9 points behind City who are top. My preffered starting 11 is a 4-2-3-1
Begovic
Walker, Samba, Bennett, Angel
Parker, Modric
Bale, Kagawa, Muniain
Welbeck
Welbeck has been a truly inspired signing scoring 27 goals in 35 games, bale has 18 assists, muniain has 10 goals and 10 assists, but im leaking goals for fun conceding 36 and scoring 62, any suggestions would be welcome. This is my story so far, i risk becoming a nobody at this stage.
