Tactical Systems

Both tactics have been set up to play attacking football. The system also makes the team disciplined and presses the opposition. It uses a zonal marking system rather than man-to-man. Hopefully the team can get used to both tactics with the correct player roles and duties.

Transfer Update - Players In

This may be a bit of a surprise to some people, however, Robert Green is an England international who qualifies as 'home grown'. He is better than current back up Ross Turnbull, will fill a gap until Thibaut Courtois returns next season and was a free transfer.



The right back position has been a problem area for Chelsea for quite a few seasons. Martin Montoya cost £3,000,000 from Barcelona and has the potential to be a solid right back.

Transfer Update - Players Out/Loans

For once, Chelsea have actually made money during a transfer window. Some of the 'old guard' have been moved on and some youngsters have gone out on loan to gain some first team experience.

Juan Mata and Eden Hazard will be used as 'inside forwards' in my 4-3-3 tactic or as 'attacking midfielders' in my 4-2-3-1.

Pre Season

I do not pay much attention to results during pre season. The squad have adapted well to the tactics and can hopefully carry this into the start of the season.

August

Two very impressive displays from the team. Eden Hazard has been the stand out player. Juan Mata picked up an injury in training just before the first game of the season and will be out for a month.

You're update isn't very good. Kalou left Chelsea on a free along with Drogba.

UEFA Super Cup

A fantastic win for the club. Hopefully a platform that we can build on for the rest of the campaign.

First of all, it is not my update. Second, if you read the first post, it is an end-of-season update. Salomon Kalou is still a registered Chelsea player until his contract runs out on the 1st July (check the official Chelsea website). Didier Drogba left the club to go to China (three days ago?) but when this update was released he was free agent, and on the game joined Tottenham.
