Chelsea's New Manager Revealed

In a move that will shock both the media and public, Roman Abramovich has decided to appoint Ex-England international ME as the new Chelsea manager after the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti. The new man having beaten off competition from the likes of Andre Villas-Boas and Mark Hughes has signed a 2 year deal worth a reported £33,500 a week. This is the 32 year olds first venture into management after a successful career as both a player and coach at the Bridge.I will have a tough task ahead of him with an ageing squad in need of development and an owner who expects year on year success.

Board Meeting

After a discussion with the board I have been given a transfer budget of £5M with a wage budget of £2M p/w. They have indicated that if I wish to expand the squad with talent I will have to move players on to gain funds. This meeting also resulted in the termination of all the clubs Affiliated connections with immediate effect so that we can move the club in a new direction.

Staff Meeting

After a meeting with the backroom staff I came to realise that for a club which sees themselves as one of the best in the world the staff are rather poor. I decided that the club had to look at giving the players the best possible training and so with regret I mutually terminate all staff contracts. I am now in the process of signing my new staff team.

Team Meeting

After meeting with the First Team I am excited by the potential some of younger players have. However I am also worried about the age of many of the squad and the wages they are on. This is something I may look into during my transfer policy.

I have set up my tactics to allow for a fast flowing attacking play whilst still remaining responsible at the back. I wish to further work on teamwork at this early stage as I am looking to bring in a few new faces and this will allow them to mould well with the squad.

I have also set up my own training regime to get the maximum out of every player. Some may not like the high workload but I believe this is needed to help them evolve as players. They can either except this or move on. Each player also has an individual aspect of their game to focus on improving in the hope of making them that little bit better in their position.

Transfer Policy

With only a small budget I will have to offload some of the current squad to create funds. Though great servants to the club some players such as Malouda and Drogba may be the players that make way for the next generation. Also the likes of Kalou and Bosingwa may have to move on due to their high wages against squad status.

My targets in this transfer window will be young players who already have a good amount of ability and experience. I want them to be able to make an immediate impact into the first team and be able to become its foundations in years to come.

how'd you get only 5M?! buy hazard, marin and jovetic and/or Muniain. i'd advice you to play 4-2-3-1, AP in CM with attack duty, BWM with defend, wingers on support, attacking mid on attack and a poacher(torres). Torres scored 107 over two seasons for me, and lukaku scoring 38. eg of a preseason match:

eg
I like your staff changes as chelsea have one of the poor backroom staff... Try sign montoya(RB) from barca and digne(LB), Toloi(CB) for your defence. They were really good in my Man utd Save...
With your defence . Try and sign Cesar azpilicueta from Marseille .. don't waste your money on digne cause he doesn't get that good anyway
Martin Montoya sucked in my game :(

Anyway interesting story and I'll be looking forward to more
Chattingmanager - 5M is the budget given to Chelsea when your target is set to title challenge on the update 12.2. I am looking at bringing Marin in but Hazard may be a bit too expensive for my first season. Thanks for the tactical info I will look into your tactics ans see if I can change anything.

xxAcekingxx - Thanks i find that its one thing FM doesn't seem to do very well. I would be very surprised if the top teams had bad backroom staff in reality. I have signed Montoya and Toloi before and they have performed well so they could possibly be joining the squad soon.

Shaneo insaneo - Thanks for the ideas. Azpilicueta is one of the better RB on the game but I find him to be very expensive first season. However might make a move for him if I find that position to be weak.

Glenn T - That's what I love about FM a player that might be good for one person is bad for another. Everyone has their own preferences on the game which can make some players excel over others. I hope you continue to enjoy the story there will be an update soon.

Chelsea Make Moves In The Market

Ibrahim Afellay has made a move to the Bridge for a fee of £1.7M from Barcelona. The Dutch international has signed a deal to 2015 worth £48,000 a week and is seen as an important first team player within the squad.

We have also brought in Marko Marin from the German side Werder Bremen for £9.5M. The young German winger has signed a £36,000 a week contract till 2014 with a squad status as a rotational player.

Chelsea Further Strengthen Their Squad

I have signed Sime Vrsaljko for a fee of £4M from the Croatian club Dinamo. He has signed a £13,000 a week contract till 2016. He will become the understudy to both Ivanovic and Cole getting a decent amount of game time.

I have also brought in the Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen from Ajax for £9.5M. The young midfielder is on a £47,000 a week deal till 2015 and will rotate with Mata, Marin and Afellay as my main attacking midfield options.

The final player to join in this window at present is the yound Brazilian Felipe Anderson. The midfielder has joined us from Santos for £5.25M on a £4,500 a week contract. Though young I believe he has the potential to play a reasonable amount of first team football this season.

Pre-Season Review

Overall I am very pleased with how pre-season went as we finished it undefeated. The team has adapted well to the new tactics and training I have implemented and some of the younger players have really stepped up well. 16 year old Nathaniel Chalobah has performed above expectation on his first few outings in the First Team and looks to be a great prospect for the future. Lukaku and Sturidge’s performances have made me decide I don’t need to venture into the market for a new striker to replace Drogba and be the other option to Torres up front. Going into the first game of the season against West Brom I feel confident with the only players missing being Essien (Out for 5-7 months with Cruciate Ligament Damage) Sturridge (Suspended for 3 games due to red card) and Felipe Anderson (Away on national duty with the Brazil under 20 squad). Hopefully if we perform like we did during pre-season we should come away with the 3 points.

Chelsea Announce Connection With Anderlecht

We have singed and agreement with the Belgium side Anderlecht giving us the benefit of sending players on loan to get experience and to gain a work permit if needed. We are paying them a fee in the region of £131K per year and Anderlecht will also host a yearly friendly keeping the gate receipts. I see this as a great partnership to get some of my younger players not in my current first team plans some high profile first team football.

Blues Hold On To Ramires Despite City Interest

Man City has finally admitted defeat in trying to buy Ramires from the Blues. Their final bid was in the region of £24M but as Ramires is an important part of my midfield I was looking for at least £32M. Hopefully he will have a good season and my decision will have been correct.

I normally get those amounts for most of them, but how did you get so much for Malouda & Drogba? Did they offer that much right away or did u negotiate and increase the amount?
I sell them straight away whenever I am Chelsea so over time I’ve worked out the maximum I can sell most of the players for. They all pay over 48 months though so I don’t get the funds straight away. But if I offer Drogba for £16.5M , PSG will only offer me £10M so you just have to find the sweet spot where clubs will pay the highest amount for them.
