I would love to see the FFP rules come in in FM 2013. As a Chelsea fan, the new challenge of a stricter wage/transfer budget will be very desirable. I've always respected Arsenals transfer policy and would look to combine that with a massive focus on youth.

Instead of just signing a £40M for the sake of it, I think it will force you to look more and more in depth on the players available.

Would anyone else like to see the FFP rules in the upcoming game?
instead of adding to fm13. why dont u just not buy players. its completely upto u whethre you buy or not

Brilliant idea... why didn't they think of that.

I have no idea how they'll implement FFP in real life, not to mention in FM, because, after watching this season's transfer windows open with signings left and right, most notably PSG with Lavezzi, Thiago Silva and Ibra, and Chelsea with Hazard and Marin, it's a wonder how ANY of them are going to be able to function under the FFP rules...

So, first we'll see how it works in real life, before seeing it in FM
PSG havnt even signed ibra yet ?? My thoughts are if psg have money let them spend it . As long as they stay financially secure
The clubs must have some smart people (or else ones who are very comfortable with risk taking)... not only are Chelsea (to cite just one example) in trouble as far as FFP has appeared to me (although winning the Champions League certainly helps) but they're skating right at the edge with the home grown players rule. I mentioned this in the context of a Chelsea discussion board and got screamed at for being negative, but the fact is, they have only one player who's likely to actually be in the squad who's home grown-at-club. (John Terry). At the moment UEFA rules allow you to not register spots if you can't fill them, so Chelsea will likely again register just 22 players. Even some squad members who would otherwise qualify do not, because they've been out on loans most of the qualification period (three years before age 21) and that time doesn't count. Somehow these rules never seem to work out quite as intended.

Yeah, you can certainly voluntarily apply rules, but computers are good at tracking that kind of stuff, so help from the game would be useful - if they can get it to work right. I don't think SI ever delay implementation of a rule that has been passed, so I'm sure it will be there.

I'm curious to see how the rest of this window's transfers go. One conceivable outcome is that clubs will hold out for top (perhaps unreasonable/greedy) price for their players, thinking they can never get these amounts again. And perhaps fail to cash in where they could have. Another is that clubs will try to cash in on players in the belief that now is mostly the last chance to do so. So we could either see a boatload of deals, or very few. Or in the end it could turn out it doesn't much matter and activity will end up kind of "normal".

That's not the point of Financial fair play. The point is that clubs stay solvent without their owners pouring billions into transfers from others. In my understanding, the owners are allowed to spend all the money they want on Youth academy's and training centers (to encourage football in the area) but not to buy players unless they can offset the cost with something else, such as stadium/shirt/shoe/etc... sponsorships, so that clubs with obscenely rich owners don't have as much of an advantage over poorer clubs.

Apparently, the rule was already in affect in the past season (2011/2012) How is PSG still spending this much? They won nothing last season...
The comments aren't incompatible... I'm musing about how clubs will afford expensive players if their revenues aren't going up drastically. Because it's a phase-in system - for now, you can average your losses over a longer period, and lose more - it seems they're gambling that it will "come right" in another year or so, which seems awfully risky. For now, we don't know what will happen on the enforcement side. Will someone really be kicked out of European play?

You'd /think/ that huge transfer fees will start to ease a little bit. But we're probably thinking wrong...
shane insaneo why be a dick? ibra hasnt singed yet? big deal hes going to any day now so no need to be cocky and Chelsea fan 26 I agree with what your saying about the FFP Rule, and appreciate the fact you admire the way arsenal go about their business (Being a Gooner Myself) it's something to be proud of apart from our trophyless run but time will come.

The way some teams can get away with FFP rules is by advertising their company at the club, that way the owner can put as much money into the club as he wants and this would be "income" because it would count as sponsorship money. It's a little loophole in the system which allows clubs like Man City being able to control what their income is to apply with FFP rules.

Do you even watch football?? I haven't read anything so ridiculous in a long time. Ryan Bertrand, heard of him?? He's Homegrown at Chelsea, as is Josh McEachran. Then CFC easily have 4 Homegrown association players so will use Todd Kane or Nathaniel Chalobah and still have the 25 man squad.
