1st time playing football manager

hi i have not played a manager game since lma 2006 and got this about a month ago and started a Liverpool save, am in aug 2016 and have won champions cup 4 times won 2 club world championships, 1 super cup, 3 premier leagues, 2 fa cups, 2 league cups and 2 charity shields is the game really this easy? in me 1st season i finished 3rd on 88 points no way is it realistic with the Liverpool squad you start with to finish with that amount of points
