what's happening with reputation?

NsaneAxeman : I've never really understood the whole reputation thing , when playing as a Scottish club ( none of the old firm ) and you win everything you can for seasons on end , become the best club in the world and still all the big names don't want to come to you is rather annoying.

as explained earlier, its because of the country. How many want to come to Celtic because of them being great domestically? its not a tempting league.

League isnt tempting from outside Scotland I guess but if you win the champions league season after season , have enough money for fees etc then surely in real life at least you'd be able to get some big names?

In the game Celtic do fairly well on players,Rangers signed Huntelaar not sure if you'd class him as a big name player though.

What is the most tempting league then? I assume its either Italy or Spain since even as 1 of the big 4 english teams I get players saying they're not sure a move to England is the right decision. Although I'm guessing perhaps that may also be due to if the player thinks he could settle into another country or is that giving the game to much credit?

in the game the most tempting league is the premiership if i remember correctly. before it was spain.

and yes of course if celtic for an example won the CL 1-2 times in 3 years or maybe even making to 1 final and winning it once would bring some big players there. BUT it depends, still i dont think they would be able to sign players from big clubs. but they will be able to buy talents a bit easier etc.

and at times some players might 'love their nation' and maybe hate other nations as well. And some might have high in loyalty. so you cant really sign any player. its more or less realstic. thats why FM is such fun.

I've came back with a question regarding this.
how it's possible to start the game with the top reputation in national league, and after tree season (4th place, second place and winner), and in all these I've qualified the team from euroean groups, and at the end, to be the 7th team in national league as reputation level. None of these teams have my reseults in europe, not even close.

It should be history dependent as well. If a team has a successful history of more than 3 seasons, it would make sense that this team would be higher in reputation rankings, regardless of current results.
