Genie Scout 13g Acknowledgements

People who support the development of Genie Scout with donations every year, are entitled to receive the special "g" edition which is ad-free and has a few extra features.

I have just donated, what happens now?

• After the donation you will receive an e-mail with the link to download Genie Scout 13g and a key.g13 file (the key file might arrive in a separate email).
• That email will also say that you should receive your key within 24 hours. Normally you will receive it within 10 minutes though.
• What to do with the key.g13 file I received in the email?
• Can I use the key file to another computer?

Current status

Released 6th beta build 333 on 24 November 2012. First beta build 326 was made available on 9 November 2012.
Possible date for new build: 28 Nov-2 Dec

Changes from build 326 to 333

• The 'freeze' issue while loading people has been resolved
• Wrong game date definition issue has been resolved
• Access violation error on club screen have been fixed
• Compatibility with Windows XP has been added (not 100% efficient yet)
• More loading data errors have been fixed

The public edition is not yet available.

Compatibility

Current build 333 is compatible with 13.1.2 and 13.1.3 (latest FM13 update).
Operating Systems:
It should work on Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8.
It's not compatible with Mac at all.

Known Issues and Workarounds

With current build it's not possible to read correctly:

• Sale value for players
• Club balance for clubs
• Transfer budget for clubs

You will get an error when:

• running an unsupported version of FM13 (anything besides 13.1.2)
• trying to load a game without having FM13 open with save loaded
• trying to load a game that is new and not saved yet in FM13

If you get a loading error, try the following:

• Run FMGenieScout.exe as administrator.
• Make sure to have FM13 open and a game loaded there.
• Make sure to have your game saved before trying to load it in GS13g.
• Close FM and re-open it, then try load game again.

Also if you received your copy of Genie Scout 13g before this topic was created, please go to help > check for new version and see if there's a new build for you to download.

Eugene will always aim to fix more issues with the new build.

Differences between the public edition and the 'g' edition

The 'g' edition has no advertisements and a few extra features.

1. A statistically based model that will show the probability of reaching theoretical maximum of players ability


2. Progress Rate - shows the predicted speed of player's development, depending on his ambition, determination, professionalism etc


3. Support for facepacks - if you have custom facepack added to your FM, it should show on player profiles on GS

Where to find my Genie Scout Unique ID?

Since the public edition of GS13 is not released yet, you should find your Unique ID in Genie Scout 12.

1. Once you open GS12, click the big circular icon to the top left corner that should open the main menu.


2. Go to 'Help' and then find & click 'Donate' to the right column that slides next to it.


3. A popup window will come up, you need to copy the Unique ID as shown below (screenshot is for GS11 but it's the same for GS12):
   

I donated but I haven't received my 'g' edition yet! Why???

The process is almost fully automated.
There is a chance of delay for the delivery of your download link and key file, but shouldn't take more than 24 hours.

Please remember Eugene is handling all donations and their processing on his own. He is a married man with a little daughter and a regular job, so keep that in mind if you panic or feel frustrated for a possible delay.

What to do with the key.g13 file I received in the email?

In order to make GS work properly, you have to place this file into FM Genie Scout 13g directory (by default 'C:\FM Genie Scout 13g').

The key-file is linked to your PC configuration via Unique ID you provided to Eugene when donating. If your Unique ID changes (due to PC configuration change, or re-installing of OS), all data in the "g" edition of your FM Genie Scout will be distorted. In that case you need to send Eugene your new Unique ID, and he'll provide you with a new key-file.

At any case, do not try to open this file. All you need to do is place it in the correct folder.

Can I use the key file to another computer?

No, Unique ID is actually unique per computer. So you'd have to ask Eugene to provide you with more keys, given that you send him all your Unique IDs.

i have a doubt, will the genie scout start to be a only payed edition, or will remain as free and public? the g-version is already on it's 2.º version and still no public version.

Genie Scout is and will remain free. The "g" edition is for people who support Eugene with the development of this wonderful tool, and serves as closed beta to make sure public edition comes out with as few problems as possible.

I'll copy/paste the part of the news announcement that gives a hint about when to expect the public edition.

Update 26 November:
Eugene needs to complete a business project by 7 December and given that he has time to work on GS mainly during the weekends, the release of the public version is possible to take place shortly after that date. There's still a chance for 1-2 December, but it doesn't seem very likely at the moment.
Update 1 December:
As expected Eugene won't be able to release the public edition before 7 December. So we're now looking at a possible release date of 8-9 December.

Hi, i Donated 2 days ago and got the Genie Scout 13g download link, and it said my key file would be sent within 24 hours.....2 days later ive still to receive such file.

Any help would be much appreciated as im not sure if this is the right place to post such thread.

I've downloaded FMGeniescout13g about a week ago. All players have funny names and the clubs doesnt fit with reality. Lionel Messi is from eastern germany and is named "Knnrh Llubd" and plays for "Kautokeino" (a city i norther norway).

Is it possible to fix this? For the moment the tool is completely useless -.-

I'm from Brazil and would like to donate.
But this kind of international credit card in Brazil is very expensive.
Outside the exchange rate depending on the currency that is getting more expensive.
Paypal Brazil also only accepts international credit card.
Is there any other way to donate?

There never was a mini version of Genie Scout, so I don't really know what you're talking about.

No I know, did'nt really come out the right way the first time, so here we go again: No one has made a miniscout this year, and chances are no one are gonna either, so I was just wondering if maybe it's possible to kind of put on a in game mini scout that just shows CA and PA, without too much extra work? Cause it's such a time saver, and know a lot of people miss it, plus I'd gladly donate a little more to get that!
