Louis O. : Jesus. £8m with CD Constáncia. And I see you got rid of our old friend enemy Mr.Alvarez ;)

Considering that the team has been constructed by sawdust, paperclips and duck tape until now I can use every cent of the 8M.

When the original transfer deal for Alvarez was canceled he didn’t waste any time signing a new free agent deal with Cordoba.
I didn’t use him the rest of the season. X-(
Finally some money to spend! Good deals there hopefully they keep you up this season
Nice amount of money their :)
I don't always catch this story on the first page, but when I do it's a lovely read.

It's absolutely fantastic the way you've managed the team.

Oh and Brøndby being relegated, could that be a dark foreshadowing of this season's last two games?

The pre-season was not very promising for the upcoming season. In the first game of the year we struggled and needed a late goal by Juan Antonio to avoid a humiliating defeat to our own U19 team.

With our new LIGA BBVA status we could now suddenly attract bigger clubs for friendlies. We managed to talk River Plate in to paying in our mini tournament as part of their tour around Spain. We also got Anderlecht to attend and had a local Mallorca team as the fourth team. We finished last in our own tournament but turned in respectable performances and only lost to both River and Anderlecht after penalty shootouts.

In the game against River we had more then 9600 people in the stands.

A horrible performance against third division team C.E. Sabadell took us back to square one before we again bounced back with good performances against O Marseilles reserves and Werder Bremen.

Ten days before our premier in the LIGA BBVA we won 3-0 on the round against amateur Mallorca team C.F. Sóller without impressing anyone.

With Teodoro Bañares out with a pulled hamstring Juan Antonio was the natural solution on top for the season opener against Real Sociedad. Juan Antonio had scored five goals in the seven pre-season games and been the best C.D. Constància player in the pre-season.

The midfield looked nothing like what I had hoped for before the start of the season. Sergi Campoy who had been part of the team the entire way would start as the ball winning midfielder and with Monroy and Alfaro adding some much needed routine.

Jorge Pardo and F Coloma would be working the left and right sideline and Cédric Pochat who had not impressed in the pre-season would have to come inn off the bench.

In the back I had faith in Polat, Akapo and especially Zonneveld.

On paper we didn’t look like a LIGA BBVA team and how we would be able to adapt to the speed and talent of the top division was a huge question mark.

We now just had to wait and get ready for the big day.

Nice team considering what you have come from. 8 million was quite a bit for a side like that. Hope you do well in the liga BBVA this coming season.
Not the best pre-season ever but I'm sure that the season will be a good one :)
Tough preseason but some decent results against strong teams so not too bad! Good luck in Liga BBVA mate
The pre-season wasn't too bad, just a few silly losses and draws. I hope you hit top form by the time Liga BBVA starts :)

8M was quite a bit of money but I am not sure I have spent them wisely. All of the big-name players were unwilling to even listen to us and the few that did had salary expectations way above what we could afford. With the top earners on the team making only €7.500 a month I was afraid to sign a bunch of new players to huge salary contracts and upset the chemistry on the team.

Define good :)

True, but the results against the weaker teams was not pretty.
Once again we will need all the luck we can get.

Thanks.
It’s a bit intimidating going up against the BBVA teams with a club like this. Just looking to survive.

I quickly became evident that we were not in a good shape. When we in week five traveled to Barcelona to play the defending Spanish Champions we were still looking for our first win and even worse we had scored just a single goal in the four previous games.

The first game of our LIGA BBVA adventure against Real Sociadad was played at home in Inca in front of a full stadium (10.000 people). Even after giving up a goal after just twenty six minutes we played a surprisingly good game. We only had the ball 40% of the time but still produced chances and kept the Real Sociadad forwards under control and only gave up four shots on goal.
After ninety minutes we came away with a respectable 0-1 loss.

After that we struggled thru three draws and scored our first BBVA goal in a game against a Deportivo de La Coruña we should have beaten.

88.000 showed up in Barcelona to watch us get beaten. It could have been a lot worse. After twenty one minutes play it said 0-3 on the scoreboard and Messi was having a great day.
We were having a horrible day all around (no player with an AvR over 7.00) but we still managed to stop the bleeding.
When it was over F.C. Barcelona had taken 21 shots with twelve of them being on target. We had taken only two shots all night with none of the getting even close to goal but even with the lopsided stats the final result remained 0-3 and we could travel back to Mallorca with our self-respect only lightly bruised.

The week after we got our first win when we won 2-0 at home against Levante U.D. in front of another sellout crowd. The big hero was Teodoro Bañares who both had an assist and a goal.

It may be frustrating with a lot of draws, but keep it at and the wins will come like they did against Levante. Like the writing as well btw
Tough start to life but at least you are picking up points on the way!
At least you got a win in the end :D

Thanks for reading and for the nice words about the writing Neal.

I take every point I can get.

I did not expect to take the BBVA by storm.

Looking on previous years somewhere between 28 and 38 points should be enough to stay up.
Got six already.

Louis O. : At least you got a win in the end :D
Hope there will be more to come.
