I've got rid of a few players, i'll put in my transfer history in my next update but we aren't blessed with great depth on fm some players are very poor for example carl regan and tom williams. If you're a notts fan you will like one of my latest signings!!

December - January

Quite a few changes in the January Transfer Window:
Great winger from Man Utd for this level hopefully he can keep me competing for promotion.
Jed Steer returned to Norwich where he found himself in the first team so I was unable to bring him back but Declan Rudd has come in and done really well
A great centre back for the pies on loan from Bristol city towards the end of the last season. He was released on a free at the end of the season but I couldn’t afford him at the start but my board increased my budgets because I set my goal as mid table now I’m heading for promotion!
This guy, he isn’t great but I’ve had him on another save and he’s one of my favourite fm players. A set piece animal 20 freekicks, 20 penalties what more could you want?!
A great loan signing from Wigan with premier league experience against the big guns hoping he can slot in nicely and do a good job!
Heres the big one, any Notts fan will know why this is such a good signing! I’ve brought back Ben Davies. An absolute hero down here at the lane was transfer listed by Derby and I snapped him up for a steal at 14k! Couldn’t believe it when he agreed to re-join the pies but he’s always the first name on the team sheet
This is all my transfer business for the rest of the season I believe so here are my transfers so far this season:
As you can see Eric Addo has left the club just a few months after joining, put simply…He was useless so he had to go and he was eating up wages. Haydn Hollis is still on loan at Grimsby on an average of 7.01 which is great for first team experience. Hamza Bencherif went early in the season because he wasn’t part of my plans neither were Williams, Regan and Gavin Mahon but luckily there was a lot of interest in Mahon and I got some money for him. Yoann Arquin wasn’t happy about not receiving first team action and we fell out and I offered him a mutual termination which he took gladly.

Fantastic league position right now and I can really see us battling for promotion this season! Although admittedly I have got a lot of loan signings so I will need to get some players on permanent deals!
Here’s the recent form:
It was up and down a lot but the schedule was ridiculous with games flying at us twice a week with F.A cup and JPT matches all at the same time.

The Cups

Still in 2 of a possible 3 which is fantastic! I’ll start with the F.A Cup where I had to play another replay (I’ve had to play a replay in every single F.A cup match I’ve played! I’m really not joking…)
Although my F.A cup ties haven’t been that glamorous I has been making money which is keeping the club in profit!
The JPT:
Fleetwood in the North Qtr Final, a great trip to Fleetwood coming away with a 2-1 win with Adam le fondre bagging an early goal in the 14th minute with Jeff Hughes scoring a screaming 12 minutes later to put us 2-0 ahead. But an inspired sub by the Fleetwood manager brought on Steven Gillespie and he instantly caused havoc and eventually reaped the rewards and got himself a goal but the game took a turn for the worst when Mawene of Fleetwood put in a horror challenge which only received a yellow card, I was absolutely fuming but karma came round in the 90th minute when Mawene was sent off for a second bookable offence.
North Semi Final:
Notts County vs Rotherham sees a return to Rotherham for Adam le Fondre since leaving for Reading and it showed he was really up for it and firing on all cylinders. Putting in a man of the match performance and bagging a goal but because of his connections with Rotherham didn’t celebrate it. A player I almost signed in the summer Stephan Jordan showing he realised he picked the wrong club scoring an own goal putting me 2-0 and I held this till the end of the game having 75% of the possession in the 2nd half.
Next up the North Final against Shrewsbury!
Now the bad news, Adam Le Fondre who’s come in and done brilliantly will be leaving at the end of his loan spell on the 22nd of February. Because of my over ambitious venture into the loan market I am unable to extend his loan because I’ve got too many long term loanees ?
But my best player over these two months has definitely been him. Scoring 7 times in 15 league matches notching an average rating of 7.20.

Good luck for the rest of the season, don't let Sheffield United get promotion at all costs ;)

February - March

A busy couple of months playing a total of 12 matches in 2 months, I hope exhaustion doesn’t kick in and I get injuries galore!

I can’t believe the league position right now! It’s so tight up here at the top anything could happen!!

) Looks like they might not be going up!
Here’s the recent form it’s not too bad so I’m still positive:

The Cups

The F.A up dream is over! We gave it a good go in our replay with Watford but in the end they prevailed and held on for the win. Not too disappointed the lads are so tired right now keeping the number of games to a minimum will hopefully help me win promotion maybe even the title!
The JPT:
I believe this is the furthest the pies have ever got! The north final, win this and I’m through to the grand final! So guess what I did…
Panic kicked in after the first leg, I was worried we weren’t going to make it! It was Adam Le Fondre’s last game for us and I’m delighted he bagged twice after the match I sat down with him and told him how good his form has been and that he will be welcomed back to meadow lane at any time. He said he had really enjoyed himself at Notts County and he might consider a return one day.
The First game without Le Fondre was the 2nd leg, away goals don’t count so I needed a 1-0 win for extra time or a 2-0 win to go straight through…
I couldn’t believe how well the boys played! We outclassed Shrewsbury away from home as well which I was so proud about, I had to take a minute after final whistle and then it hit me…WE’RE GOING TO WEMBLEY!!! I was so excited I just raced onto the pitch and hugged the captain Neal Bishop! (who has sadly agreed a move away from the lane at the end of the season, leaving for Morecambe.) Next up, Crawley…WEMBLEY!

The End of the Season

The last month of the season “squeaky bum time”. It was so tight in the league it came down to the last day, I needed to win or if Brentford drew or lost a draw would be fine.

The League

We’ve done it! I could not believe it what a last day of the season…we were away from home but we were allowed to stay later because we could have been lifting the trophy. It was a tense game and it came out as a 1-1 draw…there were a few minutes of panic where we had to wait for the Brentford results (much like man city united!) We were all huddled around the centre circle (Walsall agreed to give the latest score over the tannoy..) As things stood they were drawing 1-1 so we were top and then…”FINAL SCORE BRENTFORD 1 – 1 STEVENAGE”
We raced over to our fans, the players were ecstatic, I was ecstatic I couldn’t believe it! With all the ups and downs and the poor start. What a season.
Unbeaten run going from March 2nd into the end of the season, then the title started looking more likely!

The Cups

The JPT Final:
Not only was the league title within touching distance at this point we gave the fans a trip to Wembley in the JPT and what a game it was!
We dominated possession having almost 80% of the possession and we probably should of got about 5/6 goals but we just struggled hitting the target luckily we did managed to bag 2 goals one of which from Shaun Derry which is a bit of a collector’s item! The JPT is ours!! A great achievement, it was worth all the hours and the extra matches just to see smiles on the fans faces that we won some silverware! Sadly, as we won the league we won’t be able to defend our crown! But who knows maybe we can scare the premier league with an F.A cup run next season!
