Poll: Emulating the Special One...

OK everyone so AGES ago i have a Ruben Conista save where i worked under mourinho and then made a name for myself....well....yes i love Mourinho so i have decided to make another story but doing what he has done..for example,managing a medium Portuguse team and them getting a job at one of the higher Portuguese teams like Porto then from there on your guess is as good as mine, obviously the plan is to move to england, italy, & spain but not in any particular order. I hope you follow and enjoy...

Academica appoint Manuel Costa as manager

Manuel Costa has taken charge of the Portuguese side after 3 years at the portuguese national team as a scout, Manuel has been working towards his coaching badges since the age of 25 with the view of taking up management in the future.

While working as a scout for the national side he has had plenty of time to plot his managerial ways.



Reporter:Your time has finally come, congratulations and good luck, on a serious note...do you really think your up for this?
Costa:What do you mean?....do you know me? did you know anything about me before i was appointed manager? Come see me at the end of the season and you can apologise to my face.
[Reporter:You seem confident in your own ability, what about the team?
Costa:Well i know how far i can go in this game,my ideas my vision and desire....and the players will soon feel that too and we cannot fail....cannot fail to acheive something special for this club in my time here.

Academica 2-0 Estoril Praia - As predicted a good win.
SC Braga 0-0 Academica - Really good result, tactics were spot on playing counter attack football.
Academica 0-0 Maritimo - Bore draw really, not a lot of action.


We are looking really solid at the back at the start of the season, hopefully we can keep the form going.

More games have taken place, i am not going to bore you with all the league results against teams people might not know.

We currently lie in 8th position with a steady start.

Panathanikos 1-1 Academica - Great point away but feel gutted as they scored in the last minute.

Fixture Update

Since the 1-1 draw at Panathanikos we have had some really positive results.

Europa League

Academica 2-1 Inter Milan
Academica 4-1 Panathanikos

These results have taken us unexpectadly through to the knockout stages in a tough group for us.

We have also had a steady run of results in the League and currently are 6th.

Costa stated in an interview:
" We have been playing great football, the type of which some top teams can only wish of playing,we have done the unthinkable and qualified for the next stage of the Europa League."
" We will maybe have to play more tactical football so we dont get undone by the big teams in this competition".

People....... Manuel Costa's reputation is Regional, and i set it at the start to 'Semi Professional Footballer' hopefully it will go up to 'National' soon so i can be linked with jobs as im currently not getting any job links....all in good time hopefully lol.

Fixture Update

After a 2 leg Europa League battle with Lazio we went out at the first knockout stage.

0-2 away win for Lazio
2-2 draw at Lazio for us - we played brilliantly in this game and showed real European grit.


Academica's League form has been outstanding and currently sit in 4th position, just outside Champions League places.

Season Round Up

Academica finish the season in 8th position in the portuguese league after a final day defeat,if they had held out for a win 6th place was theirs.

Manuel Costa questioned the teams commitment and bottle at the press conference afterwards.

Academicas star player 'Wilson Eduardo' had a great season but returns to parent club Sporting Lisbon, a massive gap will need to be filled next season.

Costa stated: " We need to strenghten for next season,there is no question of that. You dont have a 5 star restaurant if your selling out of date food"
"All the staff at this club want to be higher up the table & back in Europe, but i question whether some of my players do"

Reporter Is there the financial backing to take this club to the next level?
Costa Yes i believe there is but in my opinion it would rather be spent on holidays by board members..."
