News from Stadio Sant'Ellia:

Today, Cagliari president, Massimo Cellino, announced that Ivo Pulga is no longer in charge of the first team. He said that a coach with a lack of ambition such as Ivo does not have any chance of working for his club.

Later he presented new team manager, Vincenzo Manini, a former italian international with a few Italy call ups. He did not manage any important clubs in hes' carrer, but he was very pleased that the club president trusted him.

Cagliari is a small team in Serie A. Their main objective, every year, is to avoid relegation and, if possible, be in the top half of the table.

Cagliari Calcio is a team founded in 1920, until last season played their home games at Stadio Sant'Ellia, but a fight with the local authorities and the club president made them give up on the stadium and build a new home in Quartu Saint'Elena, called IS Arena. Stadium capacity is 16200 seats, more than enough for the team.

Cagliari First Team:

Goalkeepers:

Michael Agazzi
Vlada Avramov
Riccardo Anedda

Defenders:

Lorenzo Ariaudo
Vincenzo Camilleri
Danilo Avelar
Davide Astori
Francesco Pisano
Luca Rossettini
Gabriele Perico

Midfielders:

Radja Nainggolan
Daniele Conti
Andrea Cossu
Sebastian Eriksson
Daniele Dessena
Pablo Cepellini
Federico Casarini

Forwards:

Mauricio Pinilla

Vincenzo Manini said in his first press conference that hie objective for the first season will be to finish in the first half of the table and build a team that can, in 2-3 years, fight for an European Place.

Next update will be pre-season and first halp of the season.
Pre-season and transfer updates:

http://milano.ogginotizie.it/GUI/file_contenuti/432843_Inter-Cagliari.jpg

Another fantastic game for Cagliari, winning at Giuseppe Meazza. People ar starting to take the Sardi club seriously, we are top of the league with AC Milan and Juventus behind us.

Difficul game, we had to come from behind two times, bad we managed not to lose, and we maintain our position in the top 3 of the Serie A.

Siena - Cagliari 0-1 (Andrea Cossu)

We got our good form back, after a team meeting at the begining of the month.

Four games of the season and we are top of the table. We have some difficult games coming, with 2 away games at Napoli and Sampdoria and 2 home games with Lazio and Juventus. Las game of the season against Juventus might well be the game that decides the Serie A champions.

Player of the month: Davide Astori

Napoli, a team with no real objective for the final of the season:

Napoli - Cagliari 0-5 (0-5) (Sebastian Eriksson 16, Thiago Ribeiro 27, 37, Nainggolan 31, Forren 44)

Fantastic result!!! We were very motivated right from the start and were all over Napoli in the first 45 minutes.

Player of the match: Thiago Ribeiro
http://eurorivals.net/images/streams/cagliari-v-lazio-live.png

Cagliari - Lazio 2-0 (1-0) (Sebastian Eriksson 45+1, Andrea Cossu 60)

Two games to go, we are top of the table, that looks like this:

1. Cagliari 74p
2. Juventus 71p
3. AC Milan 70p

A win in the next game at Sampdoria Genoa makes Cagliari favourites for the Serie A Championship!

Hope someone is following this, i will be back in a couple of hours with the season ending.
Nice one dude, Cagliari rarely get in to tha top half of any of my saves let alone challenge for the title!

Bring it back to the Saint Elia!! :)

A must win game for Cagliari, a must not lose game for Sampdoria.

If Cagliari win, then they are favourites for the title, if Sampdoria doesn't lose they remain in Serie A next season.

Sampdoria - Cagliari 3-3 (3-1) (Pozzi 25, 38, Eder 43/ Eriksson 16, 85, Nene 83)

We came back from two behind to earn a draw. A dissapointing result for us, with Milan and Juve winning their games.

As it stands, the table looks like this:

1. Cagliari 75p
2. Juventus 74p
3. AC Milan 73p

A draw in the last home game against current champions, Juventus, means that Cagliari are Serie A champions.

Be right back with an exciting final day in Italian football.
Final day preview:

Title battle:

1. Cagliari 75p
2. Juventus 74p
3. AC Milan 73p

Cagliari - Juventus Torino

Cagliari has two results for champions, win or draw. Juventus needs a win for becoming champions.

If Cagliari lose and Milan win, the Sardi club can finish in 3rd position.

Ac Milan - Palermo

Milan has no chance of winning the title. They have a chance of reaching 2rd place if they win and Cagliari loses.

Relegation battle:

It is clear that Lazio or Fiorentina wil relegate, both teams cannot be saved from Serie B.

17. Pescara 36p
18. Lazio 35p
19. Fiorentina 34p
20. Siena 31p (relegated)

Pescara - Inter

If Pescara win they are saved, no matter what Lazio or Fiorentina do.

Napoli - Lazio

Lazio desperately need a win and hope that Inter win in Pescara.

Fiorentina - Sampdoria

The Violas' chances stand in two results, both Pescara and Lazio have to lose if they are to avoid relegation.

It's the most exciting final day in Serie A from 5th of may 2002, when Juve won the title winning in Udine and Inter losing in Roma at Lazio.

We will be having a special broadcast for the final day of Serie A with two episodes, title battle and relegation battle.
