new to networking - a question

ok this might be a silly question to some of you and there maybe a simple answer..
today (for the first time) me and a mate took over utd and city in the prem pretty much a battle for to win the league friendly bragging rights.
anyway everytime i scout and bid on a player he bids too, he says it always comes up on his newsfeed when i bid on a player etc.
is there a way to stop him from seeing this info?
therefore stopping him bidding on the targets ive scouted?
and causing a bidding war?

happens in real life (scouting eachothers scouts scouting) so you just have to deal with it and make them pay over the odds
