BREAKING NEWS
A report has just come in that Alan Pardew has been sacked as manager of Newcastle United after a string of feuds with players and staff. The bookies favourite is ex-Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp although rumours are that Pep Guardiola is looking for the hot seat- this is not official. Connor Newman unknown un-employed manager from London has also applied for the vacancy - more information is to follow.
SHOCK
Newcastle United have just announced the appointment of Connor Newman. Newman is a rookie manager from London with no managerial history worth noting, this has brought the question - why such an inexperienced manager? Rumours are flying around that Newman was once a master at FM12 leading clubs like Basingstoke FC to the Premiership and supposedly this is the reason he has been appointed the manager of Newcastle - surely this will all end in tears?
I have arrived at the training ground to meet staff and my new players, I decide to speak to my players before going through tactics - " I know im only a rookie, that doesn't change the fact that im your manager, so respect me or your out" I had hoped this would increase morale and decrease the chance of disciplinary fines occurring. The players seemed to like me and I joked around with them for a bit, getting to know them. I started to explain the formations we were going to be playing in -
This is the main tactic I will be using although I have a few formations/tactics in mind.
Transfers to come!
I had a story with the Toon when the beta for FM13 came out, you'll probably want to give Ba a new contract before a club like Chelea trigger his £7.5m release clause (half of which goes to him and West Ham).
I have spent my transfer budget on a skilled Argentinan and an athletic + hardworking Brazillian - Nicolas Gaitan and Anderson. I have also brought in ageing Kanga Akale on the advice of Cheick Tiote. These players will fit perfectly into my team, Gaitan replacing sold Ba and Anderson bringing quality into the 3 man midfield, Akale is needed for backup/rotation. I have also sent some young stars out on loan - the most high profile being Sammy Ameobi. We also had to say goodbye to Demba Ba and Jonas Gutierrez for 7m and 7.25m respectively. In pre-season I let my assistant manager John Carver take control of friendlies and we had mixed results with 2 wins 1 draw and 1 loss.
My first game in charge would be against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
In the end we got dominated and it was not nice to watch, although I thought we had salvaged a point when Cisse equalised on 86 minutes but poor defending allowed young prospect Nick Powell to score.
Newmski, the signing of Nicolas Gaitan is a good one, though in my 2nd season in another save was transfer listed for 6 million pounds. Good signing though! Sorry to hear about your loss!
good job so far, the only thing I could say is put more detail into why you signed each person.

Oh really? thats a good price in previous saves he has gone to Manchester United. Yeah we got dominated but unlucky to lose right at the end.
I sent out a rotated squad for the game against Hearts with Xisco up front- this turned out to be a mistake as the shots we were having were horrific ended up losing 2-1 at home- some work needs to be done for the away fixture.
Not a great start to the week with the loss against hearts, and then I get a phone call from the physio saying Cisse is out for 4 weeks- to top it all off a midweek fixture against a very strong Chelsea side- I moved the squad around a bit moving Ameobi from the bench into the strikers position and putting out my strongest available side although Ben Arfa and Cisse are injured. To be honest we should have scored more and Cech pulled off a fantastic save to deny Cabayes penalty- but an absolute amazing run from Gaitan and a simple centre to Obertan proved to be the winner with us fully deserving of the win. Ameobi got taken off but it proved to be a minor injury.
I sent out a stronger team to face hearts this time as I didnt want an early Europa league exit- I told the players we needed a win and sure did they produce- an absolute blinder from Gaitan 2 goals 2 assists meant he picked up the MOTM award and we ran away 6-0 winners and 7-2 on aggregate.
Overall August was a successful month ( apart from Hearts at home which we made up for in style) Although we lost 2-1 at Old Trafford I was very pleased with the performance and defensive efforts- the Chelsea and Hearts away were amazing as we dominated both fixtures.
It was time for the Europa League Group Stage draw- I was very nervous.
"Oh for fuck sake" me and the team shouted as the draw was made.
Probably the hardest group in the competition!
PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Easily the best player this month with standout performances in the Chelsea and Hearts fixture winning MOTM in both.
Superb start, Gaitan looks good. Keep it up and good luck
Gaitan is looking the good! Good start will be following BOL!
Good luck in Europa League, I think you can finish at least 2nd. You do need to grab vital points at home to pass the round!
