After the shock retirement of legendary, long-time manager of Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United officials have begun their search on a brand new manager.

Here are the current odds from Sky Bet:

Josep Guardiola 1/2
Jose Mourinho 4/1
Roberto Di Matteo 20/1

Many ex-Manchester United stars are included on the further list, although all of them have no chance to being selected.

The main question is though: Will Manchester United be able to find somebody to lead them to almost inevitable glory?

We are pleased to announce that our brand new manager will be Eric Cantona. Eric is very much loved by many at the club, as well as many fans. We believe that Eric is the right man to win back the Premier League from our rivals.

Eric has always had a passion for the club, and we hope that he can turn this into helping our club's search for glory.

Manchester United CEO,
David Gill

In a shock appointment, Manchester United have appointed former player, Eric Cantona, as their new manager. In a press conference to announce himself, he was quoted as having said that "Anyone who replaced Alex would have been under the same pressure (for expectation) and it's only natural to feel the weight of expectation in replacing somebody of that calibre".

He later answered questions on transfers, declaring some interest in Tottenham and Wales winger Gareth Bale, as well as pointing out that Luis Nani could leave under speculation from Real Madrid.

We will bring you more as we get it.

Pre-Season Results

I thought that this was a fairly good performance across the training camp, where we headed to Brazil. I am looking well set up for the season ahead, with tactics being learnt and team cohesion at its prime.

Pre-Season Goalscorers:

Rooney (6)
Welbeck (2)
Hernandez (2)
Jones (2)
Carrick (1 [1 missed penalty])
Anderson (1)
Nani (1)
Cleverley (1)
Young (1)
Barmby (1)
Valencia (1)
Giggs (1)

Transfers

As you can see, I had to let a few people go who I saw surplus to requirements, but also loaned out many youngsters. Nani was difficult to let go, especially to Arsenal, but £20,000,000 is a fairly large price tag.

Coming in to the club were a couple of other youth prospects in Jack Butland and Mason Bennett, both players who look set to have good futures. I also needed a ball winning midfielder and Sandro (in my opinion) fits the bill perfectly.

On the staffing front, many long term staff were made redundant but many new staff were bought in from all around the globe, as well as making the already excellent scouting network greater.

August

August's Premier League matches saw me play QPR (away), Norwich (home) followed by Swansea (Away).

I didn't get off to a great start...

Ji-Sung Park coming back to haunt United with two late goals, after Hernandez helped United take the lead. Van Persie's injury was only a dead leg in the end.

I then hosted Norwich.

It was a good performance and I had recorded my first competitive victory. Sandro's early injury was luckily only a dead leg.

Midweek was the draw for the Champions League, with myself drawing Valencia, Galatasaray and Montpelier. The draw for the 3rd round of the Capital One Cup (CAC) also happened, where I drew rivals Liverpool at home.

Then I hosted Swansea.

I was very annoyed, considering we had taken the lead, and we looked good at half-time. Either way I will have to work on things for this season.

News

Not much, other than the fact that City scored fifteen goals in their first three games, including 9-0 against Southampton.

Next month

Everton (H)
Montpelier (A)
Fulham (H)
Liverpool (H) [CAC]
Arsenal (A)
Not a bad start but it doesn't look too good with your images being forbidden. Any chance of that being sorted? Good luck.

Thanks mate, I'll get that sorted now, sorry to anyone else who saw them

September

A poor set of results in my opinion. Started of with a nice victory over Everton, but then the game against Montpelier where we played atrociously. A shock defeat to Fulham AT OLD TRAFFORD led to me getting rather annoyed. The game against Liverpool restored some confidence, but we then lost that away at Arsenal.
