There wasn't really too much i could base this on due to it only being the start of the season but 2 goals & 1 assist in 3 appearances in his first month at the club means RVP takes the accolade. I only hope he continues his fine start to the season to help us remain at the summit.

Jim White: Now Manchester United manager Adam Deverell has spoke of his disappointment at his sides early exit from the Captial One cup midweek, but says his team has to put that result behind them and gear up for a tough test against Liverpool on Saturday.

Heading to press conference........

Press How bad is the injury to Nick Powell?

Deverell Its a twisted knee, not too bad he will miss 2-3 weeks so we look to have him back available to us after the international break.

Press You go to Anfield Saturday lunchtime, a ground where you've won just once in your last 5 visits in the league. Why do you feel the teams underperformed there in recent years?

Deverell Well if anything i feel alot of it is down to bad luck, we've played some good football there in the past few seasons but havent managed to come away with the 3 points. Liverpool are a well organised, solid team, yes they haven't started well to this campaign but I don't like to take that into account as with big games like these form isn't a problem as we've found out before.

Press You enjoy a 100% start to the season in the league including a very impressive 4-1 victory against Arsenal, do you feel your team has taken to you?

Deverell I certainly hope so (laughs all round) It was always going to be a tough job replacing a manager with the popularity & success of Sir Alex but i've come in and i hope to take this massive club forward my first aim is to take our crown back!

Press Thats interesting but how do you think Roberto Mancini will react to those words?

Deverell I have alot of respect for the guy and for what he's done but im a very ruthless guy, Manchester United possess a very ruthless squad of players and come May we are going to RUTHLESSLY bring the Premier League trophy back to Old Trafford.

Deverell Hails Jonny Evans Performance In Victory Over Liverpool

http://images.dailyexpress.co.uk/img/dynamic/67/285x214/366747_1.jpg

Manchester United boss Adam Deverell has hailed center back Jonny Evans performance after his sides win at Anfield this afternoon..

The boy's had a fantastic game, he really put in a commanding performance alongside Nemanja and this result can only push him on to keep up his impressive start to the season. He's still young and has some more developing to do but his improvements in the past year have been outstanding and he's a real character in the dressing room.

We've played 6 games in the month of September and for me Nemanja Vidic has performed exceptionally throughout, even managing to bag himself a goal & two MOTM awards in the process. He is in his 30's now but is still showing the class of a captain and i can only hope he continues to stay fit.

United Boss Dismisses Speculation Robin Van Persie Is Unsettled At Old Trafford

It's nonsense, complete and utter nonsense. Robin has had a slow start to the campaign but it's only a matter of time before he starts to find the net again and when that happens im sure he will become prolific. We have 4 amazing strikers to choose from so choosing the team every week is difficult but the players know where they stand & they will all play a part during the season.

Manchester United boss Adam Deverell remains confident he can bring Lucas Moura to Old Trafford in the near future. The 20 year old currently playing in Brazil for Sao Paulo is set to join PSG in January after rejecting United earlier in the summer however there's been speculation as to weather Lucas regrets the decision. With Shinji Kagawa recently arrived at the club and the other young talent United currently have in Tom Cleverley, Anderson & Nick Powell, it's unlikely United won't make any move for atleast a couple of seasons but interest is still high in the star.

Rampant Robin Says He Got The Kick Up The Backside He Needed

Robin van Persie has praised manager Adam Deverell after bagging 4 goals in 2 games including a hattick in yesterday's 6-0 thumping of Aston Villa. The former Arsenal man had managed just 2 goals prior to the league encounter with Wigan and says he's used the pep talk from his manager as a wake up call.

RVP talking to Geoff Shreeves after the Villa win
Basically the manager said to me how disappointed he was with my performances since moving to the club and i could not argue with him, i did take that as a massive wake up call and knew i needed to start proving my worth to not just the manager but the rest of the players and most importantly the fans. I have no regrets choosing Manchester United and i hope i can kick on now after my 3 goals today.
