[HELP!] My tactics aren't working anymore.

I started a save with West Ham and played through the first season winning a lot of games. I managed to finish 7th in my 1st season using a 4132 - direct forrmation.
Benayoun and Carroll (loans) were my main players, scoring 23 combined goals; I lost them at the end of the season and 9 of my players got released (I didn't realise I had to renew contracts!)
Since the start of my 2nd season, I have used 4132 and haven't scored more than 1/2 goals a game and have lost loads and haven't won yet.

Can anybody give me some suggestions on how to get my team running again, no changes in formation have worked for me.
ITactics and Training tips would be great.

4-1-3-2 never works for me, I find it too defensive. Try The FM Rookie's 4-2-3-1, or RandydeB's 4-3-1-2, which are the two I've been using recently, and both work.

check the best roles ur payers can play and then adjust the tact on them! im a big fun of 4-2-3-1 attacking-fluid tact but with my liverpool players right now i cant have the very best results.Also i read in most of the forums that classic tacts like normal 4-4-2 are better in Fm13 so i just decide to play a 4-4-1-1 control fluid(cause i sold carrol and i have only 2 strikers suarez and destro,and i want 1 more player in mid) tact and the team is "running" great!! my roles are:
