Today Darren Huckerby has been appointed as the new Bradford City manager. At the press conference today he was quoted as saying "I am delighted to be appointed as the manager of this great club with an amazing history". "I hope I can give the fans what they want and get this club back where they belong, the premier league". Huckerby comes into the job as a newcomer having had a playing career at Coventry, Manchester City, Norwich and the San Jose Earthquakes.
At last a Bradford story :P

August Update

So the First Month Begins...
Don't think anyone actually cares about pre-season. It was bad anyway!

The Capital One Cup 1st Round Draw gave us a tough tie against Middlesborough. It was at home but was our first game of the season so the players where obviously going to be a bit rusty.

It has to be said that bradford gave middlesborough the win in this match. Two own goals from Gunnar Nielsen And Andrew Davies gifted the win to middlesborough. Notable poor performances from Zavon Hines and 'keeper Nielsen. Bradford fans voiced the anger on how the match was lost. It was a tough start for the new gaffer...

We went into the first league 2 match against Aldershot...

A good solid win for Bradford but a boring game in truth. The game really didn't get going until the 61st minute when Joāo Carlos put the bantams ahead with a cracking long range effort. Then in the 84th minute Garry Thompson hit the ball off defender troy brown to get the winner. The win will come as a relief to the new manager. After a poor performance against the 'boro.

Then we had two more league games.

Rotherham 3-1 Bradford
Hines '1
Evans '62 Schofield '74 Pringle '85

Bradford 2-0 Barnet
Thompson'25 Doyle Pen'42
Stephens Sent Off '41

So Next will be the September Update.
Right I have decided how i am going to do this know!

I will be doing it in three updates...

Pre-season and transfers.
Feburary Update.
End Of Season Update.

Just so you know!
Looks good mate! :D
