Player on a trial won't leave

So this regen came through my youth system but he wasn't good enough, so he wasn't offered a contract. 3 years on after his arrival he's still on a trial contract. I'm in 2018 now but the trial contract is supposed to expire in 2015, but he's still in my team! Can this issue be solved?

You could try withdrawing the contract offer, or terminating his contract.

I'm offering him a trial and terminating his trial immediately to get him to leave, but Boreham won't release him.

ive read this is a known bug and they are working to fix it in the next patch (whenever that will be).

I think they'll release it with the official transfer update in late Feb/March.
