How long before you normally ditch your save?

Do you have a save where you're quite a few years down the line...

Normally I play a few seasons then get bored when the regens start coming out, this year its totally different. I started a season with my favoured team Sunderland and then got sacked before January. (embarrassing) I was all set to throw the game but then I thought I would just roll with it and see who would offer me a job... Then it came, a job offer from Birmingham that would change my FM experience totally. When I took them over they were 21st in the championship and fighting in a relegation battle. They were also crippled by debt and had no resources available. (mainly due to greedy Zigic on 50k a week) in the last 6 months I managed to avoid relegation and over the next couple of seasons after Zigic's contract ran out start developing a squad. I bought a base of mainly English players with a couple of foreign promising regen players and developed these. As I post this im in my 5th season at Birmingham and into the Eufa cup knock out rounds after finishing 6th in the Prem. the young promising regens I had are now 21-22 and have turned into quality footballers and its cool that I've kept the same basis of the squad so theres records being broken at the club.

I'm on a rubbish PC at the mo so cant post pics but I will when I get back home and show these regens, my swedish striker has ridiculous poacher stats and scores for fun.

I'm interested to hear about peoples experiences and there favourite saves, how long do you normally last in one? Feel free to post your regens as well!
I've gotten past the 20 year mark on a few of my saves. Most notably was my GOŠK Dubrovnik save where I lead them from the Croatian 2nd division to the Champions' League Final, before selling my best players to Monaco and following them out. I won 4 Champions' League titles with Monaco and had a 150 000 seat stadium named after me.

I had a few players who were quite simply fantastic. Specifically.

It just depends how you play it I guess. I never go into a save with the intention of quitting after a season or two. Always go for the long haul. And, if possible, always stay with the same club for as long as possible.
That sounds like an amazing save mate! Barisic looks ridiuclous he is the complete striker! When I get a minute and im not at work I will post a picture of Issakson my striker who has just beaten Jurgen Klinsmans record of 15 goals in the Eufa cup.. He's on 18 and im just out of the group stages haha! Your second pic wont load. its an aim of mine to get a stadium named after me on FM but for the time being I wouldnt mind Birmingham improving the stadium which has seen better days!
I normally play until the the next game comes out but i will vary from a main save and either an unemployment one or a lower league team. But i know what you mean with the regens i think it's cause you have no connection with them because you have never seen them in real life.
Wow, tbendis, they look great! I envy you for being able to get so far :P
In every FM game that i can remember, i have always taken at least 1 save to 25 years or beyond. I enjoy taking a low level team up to the top and developing whole squads of home grown local talent, that is why i like FM so much as it allows you do that. When local derby day comes round there is a warm feeling when you field a team entirely of local lads fired up for the challenge.

I originally started out to do this at Birmingham mainly because the club had no funds but over the years I had to look abroad as the talent wasnt as good. I am interested in trying this in another save though!
can someone give me a quick guid to getting my screen shots from the game on here? im using image shack and have got to the point when I get the sharing code but it doesnt seem to be working.
I usually go until I make an immense mess up! As one of my last FM12 challenges I decided I would top the worldwide hall of fame which took around 15 seasons and figured I would do the same again in FM13.

In my current save I am upto 2032. I spent 13 and half years at Porto. 6 months with Valencia then 2 and a half years at Real Madrid before a break and have now been at PSG for almost 3 seasons.

Some of the regens I have seen and been lucky enough to manage are like those in the screenshots. I've won loads of silverware, and plenty of awards but the Champions League still eludes me. I've played in the competition in every season of my career and only ever made one semi-final which is a source of frustration as I know it would help fast track me, at least points wise up those hall of game rankings.

However, the most frustrating aspect of my game has been despite having a great network and facilities, that my own clubs regens have dried up pretty much for 10 seasons and I have to buy them instead.
