On the afternoon of 26th of June 2012 a press conference was held at the Fratton Park, anouncing a young Serbian manager Dragan Mrđa as the new chief of the Pompeyes. Mrđa signed a 1 year deal on a £550 p/w. Mrđa´s main goal will be to avoid relegation with Pompeyes being in a serious financial crisis and on the verge of bankruptcy.
Mrđa has been in charge for only a few days now and he has since made huge changes to the Pompeyes team. He released numerous players from the first team amoung which: Higgins,Colson,Wallace,Thompson,Grant,Wheller as well as newcomers Harley,Eastwood and McLeod. He has justified these actions by saying that the team need new signings worthy of Portsmouths reputation and players who are able to bring advantage on the field. With Portsmouths budget being limited it is yet to be seen how he is planing on doing that.

At a press conference held by Mr Mrđa he has anounced signings of 11 players,of which 6 on loan, and as well promoting young Korean midfielder Kim to the first team. Players signed were:
On loan: Radek Cerny(Q.P.R,Goalkeeper),Mikkel Andersen(Reading,Goalkeeper),Damian Martinez(Arsenal,Goalkeeper),Ryan Tunnicliffe(Man Utd,Midfielder Central),Frederic Piquionne(West Ham,Striker),Lauri Dalla Valle(Fulham,Striker).
On free: Robin Faber(Quick Boys,Defender Central),Hermann Hreidarsson(Coventry,Defender Left),Marciano Bruma(Rijnsburge Boys,Wing Back Right),Salif Diao(Stoke,Defensive Midfielder),Tomas Dosek(Kolovec,Striker).
The signings of former Porsmouth players Salif Diao,Hermann Hreidarsson and Frederic Piquionne were regarder by fans as pure magic and they look forward to seeing them in action.
A draw for the Capital One Cup has been held and Portsmouth has been drawn together with League 2 side Torquay. The game will be held at Fratton Park on the 15.8.
Breaking news from Fratton Park: Portsmouth is in take over talks with local businessman Adam Pearson being reported as the man behind it. It is reported that should he become chairman he is willing to pay off Portsmouths debts.

Portsmouth ended their pre season friendlies with win against Howard & Waterlooville. Here are the full results of pre-season fixtures:
Portsmouth have as well signed 2 more players coming straight from the Premier League which will certainly be huge assets for the fight agains relegation. Alan Tate(Swansea,Defender Centre), and Rob Hulse(Q.P.R,Striker) have both signed a 1 year loan deal.
WIth the start of Capital Cup and the League less than week away it will be interesting to see how will Portsmouth blend in all the new signings.
One more breaking news from Fratton Park, the takeover by businessman Adam Pearson has failed but curent chairman George Way didnt exclude the possibility of mr Pearson investing in the club in the future.
Good luck mate!
Portsmouth started their season good with a home win against Torquay in the Capital One Cup. However they were brought down to earth with a away loss to Hartlepool. The next 3 games Pompeyes went undefeated with a win against Scunthorpe and draws against Brentford and Shrewsbury. In the meantime they were heavily deafeated in the second round of Capital One Cup by Blackburn 5-0. Because of poor display on that match young Danish goalkeeper on loan from Reading got sacked,as well as recent signing from Swansea Alan Tate(because of a heavy injury).
