The world has been shocked, tears have been shed and many hearts have been broken. Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has resigned as Arsenal manager and has retired from the sport this early morning. When asked why he was leaving he said it was for "personally reasons", he didn't want to leave his beloved Arsenal, but it was best to leave them on a high.
The Frenchman is mainly known for his playing time at Arsenal. He is the best striker the North London side has ever had and possibly will ever have. Years after, years, years he played with passion and determination. When Arsenal needed someone to step up and rescue them, there was only one man who could do it, and that was Thierry Henry. Arsenal turned a shy young winger, into a world class, confident warrior and striker.
Here is Thierry's emotional leaving speech, which was held in the Emirates on the pitch in front of thousands of fans and all the players and staff.
" Many of you are wondering why you were called here, why I arranged an open day during the season...I did it for a very important reason. I'm deeply hurt and sad to say I will be leaving Arsenal football club and retiring from managing. I feel this is the best time to leave such a wonderful club that will always be my home and will always be in my heart. The club is on a high which is superb. Twice I've left this club and returned and all of you received me back again, like a new baby coming home, I'm afraid there will not be a third time. *tears start to roll down cheek* Sorry I don't usually show my emotions so you'll have to give me a minute or two, to regather myself.... *crowd chants* "THIERRY HENRY, THIERRY HENRY, THIERRY HENRY, THIERRY HENRY". Thank you, thank you. This club made me the player I was and the manager I am. Without this club I don't think I would be a footballer, I would have quit many years ago. I've spent a total of 13 years at this club, if I could be born again I would spend my whole life at this club.. *camera shows players, staff and fans crying* Arsenal football club is the best team in the world, and nobody will change that. Finally I would like to thank Arsene Wenger, what a great man he is, he made me who I am today! I would like to thank all the players, not only the ones I've managed but the one's I've played with, it has been a pleasure working alongside such wonderful individuals. I would like to thank all the staff, past and present. You guys have kept me going and have picked me up when I was down. I would like to thank all the fans here and all those who aren't here. Without you guys this wouldn't be Arsenal football club and without you guys there wouldn't be a Thierry Henry, thank you for chanting my name every game, would you do me a favor and do it once last time? *crowd chants* "THIERRY HENRY, THIERRY HENRY, THIERRY HENRY, THIERRY HENRY, THIERRY HENRY, THIERRY HENRY, THIERYY HENRY, THIERRY HENRY". Thank you, thank you very much I love all of you. Arsenal football club, thank you for everything, I owe my life to you. I was, I am and I will always be a gooner, thank you".

Authors note
Hello guys, now for the real reason behind Henry retiring. For a few months I thought many people had lost interest in the story and so I stopped it, recently I started it again and people have been commenting constantly and giving me great feedback which really motivated me. This morning I realized my Henry save was gone and all the back ups wouldn't load. This is beyond my control and I'm sad that I've had to end it. Thank you to everyone who read this story and commented on it.
