Rate my season..

I am currently Newcastle United into my 2nd season and wanted to see what you guys thought about it.

Who you think I could/should sign and how to improve.

On the face of it, it looks like a good effort. The team appears to be very creative and scoring lots of goals. Overall competition performances have been good bringing champions league football, and losing to Arsenal in the F.A. Cup is no disgrace. The Europa League exit appears disappointing but without having the information, I would guess the extra rest between games late in the season may have been for a greater good?

It looks most obvious that improvements need to be made at the back. Tim Krul is known to become a top class keeper so I would say that he is fine. It's just after that of whether you think the defence needs just tweaking or an over-haul. Your 13m budget plus nearly 30k a week for wages will no doubt get you a competent defender.

I was happy with the overall season. The Europa League was hard to take as I won the first leg and led for majority of the second but did free up vital days for recovery to focus on the league.

I agree that i need to sign players at the back. Just need to find them defenders and see the price range. I have been given a new transfer budget of £25.5 million. That should help to strengthen the back 4. Just need to see if i can find the right man for the job, suggestions would be appreciated.

you have a nice squad kris but im surprised you're getting rid of steven taylor tbh. don't think the fans will take too kindly to that lol. squad is rather small just need adding to it as you'll be playing plenty.

I know, the fans wont be happy but he wasnt showing me much over the season and want to bring in a new stronger CB. I do need to add, trying to find the right players rather than just buying for the sake of it.

Love it, how's Carlos Fierro for you?

Try Joel Matip for that CB, shouldn't cost a lot and performances have been great for me (Spurs).

Carlos Fierro was a bit stop start when he arrived probabl due to not knowing how to play him. In the 2nd half of the season he put in 15 goals which was a great return for the push up the league.

I will give him a shot Randomthom and see how i get on, thanks.
