I have years of experience on FM but i was wondering what story to write about first?

I would like to be someone like tottenham or everton and take them to the next level but also maybe a team who are smaller and build them up, hopefully good finance at the club too...anywhere in Europe, small league or big league i dont care....

Please help!!
I'd like to see a Bayer Leverkusen story :)

Somewhere obscure, like N. Ireland, Iceland, Wales etc :)
A team that you will stick to for the long term.

Quite frankly, it doesn't matter what team you choose. If your posts are of quality, and you try and put a little emotion into them then people will read it regardless which team you've chosen. Nick's(The FM Rookie)KuPS stories and Or's(or.dabool) Boreham Wood story were two of the most popular stories on this site and yet no one had heard of these teams before. Both of their Liverpool and Milan stories were equally good, but the data loss put an end to them. So basically, the picking of the team is not that important (so as long as you are able to play with any team and do not get bored)

To give your story(and your save) a reason for you to keep it going a little longer, I suggest you start off with one of the "fallen giants" - teams with a great history of winning cups and challenging for the league that suddenly dropped - or just a regular mid-table team that you can leave your mark on.

My choices would be - Villarreal(they dropped to the Segunda), Bilbao(they aren't mid table or a fallen giant but their rule of signing Basques only will keep the save interesting), Leeds(They were among the best in the Prem but debts caused them to spiral into League 1, they are now in the Champ though), Cologne(I don't know why, just like them alot, I think they used to be challenging for the title in the early years of the Bundesliga, not quite sure though)

If you are keen on playing only as a team in the Prem I suggest Swansea(great squad, big budget, midtable-top half) or Southampton(Great youth academy and you have Gaston ;) But also a leaky defense)

Remember one thing, to have a successful story, you need continuity. Doing a story that lasts a week won't become a hit. If you don't get the reaction and the comments that you were hoping to get, try to fix your grammar(bad language can be very offputting) or introduce something new to your story that we've never seen before. But most importantly, keep it going. Even the best writers on this site had points in their stories where no one commented. But eventually everyone read their stories and realized that it was quality, and they started following them.

Sorry for boring you with the long post(hopefully you'll find it helpful) Good luck, hope you do a great story. ;)
Arvind said everything that needed to be said. :)
Just manage a team that you have fun managing.
Wow thanks everybody, and especially liverbird for your in depth ideas, that is a great idea, a fallen giant is one idea I have been thinking of as it's a triumph to bring them to greatness again!!
I think that is the way I will sway but I keep looking toward someone like anzhi with their money and the amount of teams in Russia with money. Try and sign top players like galatasady have done in te transfer window? Then once ive had success move to a club with history who needs picking up?

I also like to start my games realistically, for example I like my manager to have history and earn his stripes, eg: coming from a league two side, say Plymouth then moving to Leeds or someone like that. Instead of just plonking some obscure manager into the helm. It doesn't seen realistic even though it's a game I know lol

Aaaaaaargh decisions decisions!!!
