In 2021 in Portugese league, the amount we get for TV rights is a ridiculous 3.5 mil for a season. I am wondering why this doesn't increase at all through the years, especially because my team (sporting) won the champions league twice and other teams have been doing fairly well in Europe. Will this ever increase or is it stuck like this?
I think it's probably gonna be stuck like this. Face it, Portugal will never be a very popular league, so why will you be paid more?
Well that's not very realistic is it, wouldn't you think that if in real life Portugese teams won the Champions league 3 times, Europa league 2 times in 10 years and if it had some of the best players in the world( + 1 sugar daddy team buying players like crazy) that people wouldn't start paying more attention to it. Honestly this seems pretty broken because I'm not expecting EPL level income but atleast fucking 10 million for the season in the fastest growing league in the world.

I know it's successful, but it's not exactly filled with great teams is it? I mean not many people will want to watch teams like Gil Vicente or Rio Ave unless they are playing Porto, Benfica, Sporting etc.
I agree completely, and I don't expect to get money like any of the big leagues but honestly 3.5 million is just funny, and considering that through the years the top 3 grew massively and the rest developed at least a little bit you would think at least a little bit of growth in that department. Wouldn't you watch the Portugese league here and there in real life if players of Messi's quality(Porto has this insane regen) played there and atleast 2 teams are in quarter/semi of CL every year. It's a pretty bad problem as this means a league cant develop at all.
