can anyone give me a list of the best lone strikers? i need someone who can play upfront alone and score me goals. thx
Hello there .... first post ..... If this is on the wrong place I apologise in advance

Been playing as Blackburn for 3 seasons; finished 11th, 9th and 14th so far. My problem I figured was creating chances for my strikers (Derbyshire and Santa Cruz - theyre goals/shots % is almost as good as the best - they just aint getting as many opportunites.

So I bought Riquelme (33yrs old but with 18,19 and 20 in Tecnical and Mental - 11,12 physical (OKAY - so he is a lazy so and so but still .....)

Trouble is he belies his stats - his free kicks (20!!) are more a danger to those sitting near the corner flag and the only penalty he has taken (19) was skied ...

Morover, his passing is woeful - usually behind player and when he gets a knock his condition drops to about 30% (happend twice now and he has only played about 8 games.

I`m sure I`m doing something wrong with him ... any advice?

I`m playing either 442 with him as CM with low closing down and high forward runs or 4312 with him as the AMC tucked in behind stikers

He is set to playmaker

Thanks

i have him at chelsea, but he is 30yo, and fit. i think at 33 he looses a bit physically.

but i only use him in AMC position i give him lots of freedom, and attacking mentality, i let him run with ball, shoot long, cross often, passing through often etc

but i also have other good passing players around which also are the playmakers. you should put in another in your playmakers list so its not always riquelme your team seeks. he should do better then.

also riquelme is not a bad buy, but think of buying another creative player. who can deliver.

you need effeciency, someone who can cross good constantly, or can pass good constantly etc.

look at the likes of Alex from Internacional.

make sure you dont only rely on 1 player in your tactics as it doesnt often work. so if your playing with playmakers make sure you got at least 2 in the playmakers list.
Thanks mate - really appreciating the advice .... more than one playmaker ... interesting !!

hmm i dont remember names when playing with lower league teams.

but try to go as far as you can without buying a player, try to loan players which is one of the best ways when in conference league two.

but if you can get to league two without spending too much that will be great, because then you have more to spend and you will be able to get better players.

you can try to look in slightly smaller countries, because england have a high reputation so you can get a few good players from lower leagues in smaller countries like look at Sweden, Norway, Denmark. Holland, greece etc.

but as you are top of the league just try to loan a few. and try to get to the league two with the current squad.
not sure if this has been done but ive got the new update for upcoming season...

Newcastle United (therefore Championship)
budget: 3/4 million (but can increase that by 8m if i sell martins)
wage budget: about 100k (160k with martins gone)
i need an overhaul tbh...looking for youngsters to buy and some golden oldies on loan

cheers in advance

Yer m8, i will try and use the current squad that I have to get up a couple of leagues... Gt any suggestions on players to loan out?? Or any players from the lower European leagues?
not that i can remember in particular no. but do like i do and just look around like a maniac, you will eventually find a player or two who is good and cheap. looking for free players is good as well, you should be able to get 1-2 good oldies.

oh look league one, championship even league two teams for players to loan.
