You've made some very good signings. Hopefully this season we will see Leeds return to the big time and with the signings you have made, I see no reason why we won't.

http://u.goal.com/137600/137676hp2.jpg http://images.icnetwork.co.uk/upl/wishawpress/sep2010/7/0/darren-randolph-13105404.jpg

Leeds United are proud to announce the signings of Ralf Fahrmann and Darren Randolph from FC Shalke 04 and Motherwell respectively

The youngest of the two, Ralf Fahrmann (24) started his career at Schalke. He started out in the second team where he made 39 appearances in two years. He broke into the first team in 2008, making three appearances before joining Eintracht Frankfurt for free in 2009.

At Frankfurt, he made 18 appearances in two years before rejoining Schalke in 2011. During his second spell, he made 11 appearances before today's move to Leeds.

26-year-old Darren Randolph career extends as far back as 11 years ago when he signed on with Ardmore Rovers. He was picked up by then Premier League side Charlton Athletic in 2003. He had loan spells at Welling, Accrington Stanley, Gillingham, Bury and Hereford making a combined total of 48 appearances.

Having made three appearances previously for the South London club, he broke into the first team in 2009/10 and made 11 appearances before joining Scottish side Motherwell.

He spent three years at Motherwell, making a total of 105 appearances before today's switch to Leeds.
Have never heard of Ralf Fahrmann, is he any good? Who is going to be first-choice then?

Despite his maturity, my staff still say Fahrmann still has to realise his potential, so until he does that, Randolph will be my first choice

PRE-SEASON FRIENDLIES

Shelbourne 2-1 Leeds United
Home Farm 0-4 Leeds United
Shelbourne 0-3 Leeds United
Drogheda Utd 0-6 Leeds United
Birmingham City 0-3 Leeds United
Coventry City 3-0 Leeds United
Halifax Town 1-3 Leeds United
Leeds United 2-1 Estudiantes (LP)

It's been a productive pre-season for Leeds United, with 6 wins from 8 games as the Yorkshire outfit netted an incredible 22 times. The defeat against Coventry was disppointing as was the defeat against Shelbourne but that was contrasted by impressive wins against Birmingham and Argentine giants Estudiantes (LP).

Just a month in, and Leeds United have already played three of the league's newbies in relegated Southampton and promoted Sheffield United and Bournemouth. 13 points from the first 5 games has provided Leeds with a solid start and occupying 5th place, Townend's men can now think about pushing on and challenging the top two.

Luciano Becchio has been without doubt the best player at the club this month. The deadly Argentine stiker has chipped in with 4 goals this month as well as setting few up as well. He contributed the scoring in the pleasing 3-2 turnaround at Glanford Park against Scunthorpe.

Npower Championship Crystal Palace 1-3 Leeds United
Npower Championship Leeds United 0-1 Blackburn Rovers
Npower Championship Leeds United 2-1 Coventry City
Npower Championship Barnsley 0-0 Leeds United
Capital One Cup RD3 Leeds United 0-1 Stoke City
Npower Championship Leeds United 2-1 Bristol City

Another successful month has seen Leeds stay in the playoffs and move into 3rd, just 3 points behind league leaders Birmingham. Striker Luciano Becchio has been tearing apart defences from day one with his lethal finishing as a lone striker. The Whites have demonstrated their ability to come from behind twice this month, after overturning 1-0 deficits against Coventry and Bristol City to go on and win 2-1. Manager Josh Townend won the Manager Of The Month award after the Yorkshire outfit picked up 10 points from a possible 15 this month

Luciano Becchio has undisputedly been Leeds player of the the month for September. The striker has been in inspired form and athough he failed to find the back of the net against Crystal Palace or Blackburn, he bagged 3 goals in the next 4 games including a brace in the comeback against Bristol City.

OCTOBER 2013

Npower Championship Cardiff City 0-1 Leeds United
Npower Championship Nottm Forest 1-0 Leeds United
Npower Championship Bolton Wanderers 0-0 Leeds United
Npower Championship Leeds United 2-0 Blackpool
Npower Championship Hull City 2-1 Leeds United
Npower Championship Leeds United 3-2 Middlesbrough
Npower Championship West Brom 0-1 Leeds United

It's been a productive month for Leeds and the whites have climbed up to 2nd with just a point to seperate them from 1st placed Birmingham. Townend seems to have arrived with a magical touch as the 1-0 win at Cardiff made it three wins out three over what had previously been Leeds' bogey team, having failed to beat them since the 80s. The emergence of new German youngster Matthias Ginter has also given the fans something to shout about as he won the Npower Championship Player of the Month Award for October.

Matthias Ginter was confirmed as the best player in the league this month so there can be no logical doubts over him being named as the best Leeds player of the month. He was closely followed however by defensive midfielder Claudio Yacob who came third in the Npower Championship Player of the Month Award. Between them, Ginter and Yacob earned 6 Man of the Match awards, with Ginter winning four which included a three game streak between the games against Bolton and Hull. The other award fell to an opposition playe in Nottingham Forest's Alan Tate.

NOVEMBER 2013

Npower Championship Leeds United 1-0 Millwall
Npower Championship Burnley 1-1 Leeds United
Npower Championship Leeds United 3-2 Sheffield Wednesday
Npower Championship Leicester City 1-3 Leeds United
Npower Championship Leeds United 1-2 Wigan Athletic

The win over Millwall was enough to put Leeds at the top of the table at the start of the month and the whites currently hold a 2-point lead over 2nd placed Birmingham and a 5-point lead over 3rd placed Watford. Dominic Poleon has made a return to the first team initially in the absence of unfit Iago Falque but a goal in his return to action saw him move into the striker's role vacated by injured Luciano Becchio and unfit Marko Pantelic.

For the second month running, Matthias Ginter has won Leeds player of the month award for his impressive displays which saw him earn a second consecutive Npower Championship Player of the Month Award, which has been backed up by a further three man of the match displays. He also got himself on the scoresheet this month. He is living proof that you can win things with kids.

DECEMBER 2013

Npower Championship Watford 1-2 Leeds United
Npower Championship Huddersfield Town 2-1 Leeds United
Npower Championship Leeds United 1-2 Birmingham City
Npower Championship Sheffield United 1-4 Leeds United
Npower Championship Leeds United 2-0 Southampton
Npower Championship AFC Bournemouth 3-1 Leeds United
Npower Championship Blackburn Rovers 1-3 Leeds United

It's been a particularly busy festive period for Leeds United as the whites played 3 games during the Christmas week on the back of 4 varying results, ranging from a 2-1 defeat at Huddersfield to a 4-1 demolition of Sheffield United. As the club's anthem goes "and we've had our ups and downs", Leeds have had enough ups and downs this month to last a life time, being knocked off top spot after a defeat at Birmingham and then returning to the top on boxing day before being knocked off once again after defeat at Bournemouth.

In a month of no real stand out performers with Matthias Ginter dropping below his usual standards, Charles Takyi has won the honour of the month's best Leeds player. The Ghanaian winger was instumental in Leeds' short lived return to the top of the table, contributing a hat trick against Sheffield United and a goal against Southampton.

JANUARY & FEBRUARY 2014

Npower Championship Blackburn Rovers 1-3 Leeds United
FA Cup Third Round Torquay United 0-0 Leeds United
Npower Championship Leeds United 1-1 Crystal Palace
Npower Championship Leeds United 0-0 Barnsley
FA Cup 3rd Round Replay Leeds United 3-0 Torquay United
Npower Championship Coventry City 4-3 Leeds United
FA Cup Fourth Round Leeds United 2-0 Fulham
Npower Championship Leeds United 1-0 Bolton Wanderers
Npower Championship Bristol City 0-0 Leeds United
FA Cup Fifth Round Tottenham 1-0 Leeds United
Npower Championship Leeds United 1-0 Cardiff City

January was indeed a very busy month for Leeds United, with only the last three games on the list coming in February. Leeds have struggled to find consistency and it can be difficult to predict which Leeds team will turn up, for example one week they would get beaten at struggling Coventry before going on to comfortably beat Fulham and keep a clean sheet. If the Whites are to stand a chance in the ongoing battle for promotion, they will have to step up their game and find consistency before they get punished.

In a new year lacking in stand out performers, Matthias Ginter has been named as best Leeds player in the new year. The centre-back is yet to put a foot wrong in 2014 and has even found his way onto the scoresheet as well.

MARCH 2014

Npower Championship Blackpool 0-0 Leeds United
Npower Championship Leeds United 1-3 Nottm Forest
Npower Championship Leeds United 0-0 Hull City
Npower Championship Middlesbrough 1-2 Leeds United
Npower Championship Millwall 3-2 Leeds United

Leeds are now badly out of form. Not only that, but they've been knocked back off their perch by Birmingham with Bournemouth hot on their tail. The Whites lost both home games this month which is a very worrying sign. With just 6 games left, Leeds really need to buck their ideas up soon befoe it's too late
