Lucas Valeriu Radebe (born 12 April 1969) is a former Leeds United and South African football player, playing primarily as a centre back.

He began playing in South Africa with Kaizer Chiefs, before transferring to Leeds United, where he played 200 matches for the Yorkshire side. During his spells at these clubs, he picked up the nicknames "Rhoo" and "The Chief" respectively. He became captain of Leeds United and also of the South African national team, most notably at World Cup 2002. Nelson Mandela said of Radebe; "This is my hero."
Radebe is a cult hero at Leeds and has a Legendary status at Elland Road. This prompted a young group of Leeds fans to name their small band after their hero's first club, The Kaiser Chiefs.

This story is going to be written from the first person mostly, comments would be appreciated. Thankyou for reading!
I wonder who thought of that great title for you ;) good luck
How did I end up like this? At one point I was worshipped all over Africa. Now, the younger generation have no idea who Lucas Radebe is or who Leeds are. Now all I do is sit in my living room, watching domestic football. The South African league isn't as good as it used to be. I miss the day to day football, the dressing room banter and matchdays. Struggling to adapt to retirement was the hardest thing, and to be honest I still am, maybe I should get back into it? Yeah maybe a scouting role at Kaisers or Leeds, one of them would have me for sure! No, thats not the training ground buzz I crave. Maybe a coach? No, I want to be the man again, everyone will know me. Lucas Radebe. The manager. I already got my badges so all I have to do now is find a job, how hard can it be?
There may be a delay for the next update as I am currently unemployed and looking for a job. If your interested in this, please be patient with it, thankyou
A good start to the story and it is great to see someone taking the umemployed route as I guess that is where most managers start. Good luck.
In my ajax save i had a regen who became a club icon and legend named Cyrian Radebe. When i read your title i was really confused. Seems you're right as I have never heard of Lucas Radebe. Good luck mate.

He's only made himself a legend at a then very powerful Leeds United team that got into the semi-final of the UCL
'Anymore drinks sir, this is your last chance before we descend for landing'
'No thanks' I replied to the young hostess, though a small bottle of pinot grichio was not at the forefront of my mind for this trip, more the fact I was heading for talks regarding a managerial job in the championship. To be precise, Brighton.
The weekend had just past when I was doing my check on how leeds were performing in the second tier when I noticed a little headline saying 'Poyet leaves Brighton'. This was it. My route into management. I shortly put together a CV of all my achievements and sent it off to Tony Bloom, the chairman.
They were a good side brighton, they had been fairly mediocre until Poyet turned their fortunes around. However, this season had been a disappointment with them languishing above the relegation zone. If I was to get the job, there would be a potential to take this side to great things, past players such as Bruno and Vicente. Hang on, didn't I play against him in the semi-final? He WAS a talent, how did he end up there? Anyway, the job wasn't mine yet, all just hope and speculation..
