Santana Appointed Tenerife Coach
Danilo Santana has been appointed as manager of CD Tenerife following a series of candidates dropping out on the job. The young Colombian, only 29, is believed to have made a good impression on the owner of the club, and given a chance to prove himself. The Colombian has joined the club half way through the season. Tenerife are holding a position above the drop but aren't pushing for promotion at all, giving Santana a challenge at the least.
Santana was seen at training this morning for the first time, shortly before attending a press conference.

J Welcome to Spain, Danilo. How do you feel about making the trip for your first venture in to management?
DS I have never been to Spain before, but I speak the language so I looked for jobs all over the world. I have relocated over continents because this is important to me, it's a big team, bigger than I expected.
J Excellent. What do you think about your targets for this season?
DS We won't get relegated, that's for certain. I'll push the players up the table and we'll see what happens then.
J Do you think you'll be a long term manager for this club?
DS I would not bank on it. I want to take this club places but my true dream is to make a name for myself all over the world, this club will be a huge part of my career, kicking off what I hope to be a long and successful career.
J What are you going to do in the Transfer Window?
DS I am not sure yet, we don't have a massive budget and it's only January.
J Good luck, Danilo.
DS Thank you.
