Chester Football Club have confirmed the appointment of former player Ryan Chance as the club's new manager. Chance, 33, was forced to retire at the end of last season after failing to recover from a serious knee injury.
Bolton-born Chance began his career at Preston North End, joining the club's academy at the age of 15. He later went on to play for Chelmsford City, Dover Athletic, Boston United and Forest Green Rovers before ending his career at Chester.
Chance quickly became a fan favourite during his short time at the Deva Stadium, and was given the captain's armband in his last season at the club.
The Blues will start the season as the bookmakers favourites for the Conference North title, and Chance will be expected to lead the club to it's third promotion in three years.
