Hello guys, this is my first FM story and I hope it will go well. I hope to get Forest promoted and we'll see where it goes from there. I do want to win the league before I end it though. I am not very good so this will go on for quite a long time but yeah. Any support will be appreciated!!
Good luck. :)

Billy Davies Sacked

Shocking Scenes from Nottingham Forest as they sack yet another manager. They have replaced ‘King Billy’ with an unknown manager Jack Payne, he has no previous experience and it seems the Al Hasawi’s are crazy. This is surely the most ridiculous manager saga we have every seen. Jack Payne must have to be very special for him to stay in the job…

First Impressions

I was given a transfer budget of 6.65M which is outstanding for a championship club. I had a few transfer targets and I wanted to focus on youth to prepare for the challenge of staying in the Premier League when we get there.

Here is my squad :

It is an excellent squad for mounting a promotion however I do notice there is no width so I will be looking to bring a couple of wide players into the team.
I have identified a few key players who will be playing a major part on our promotion push:

A great player capable of magnificent goals, he plays for the Republic of Ireland team and I will be expecting great things from him.

A good, solid versatile player who doesn’t score the most goals or get the most assists but is just a great centre midfielder. We have a great central midfield at the club.

A quality and consistent player, capable of rock solid performances at the centre of defence.
A, Forest, the little, shits. Bad luck with the story ;)
Dont listen to kebab, you can make this a good story! Dont sell Cox no matter what!:) Good luck
A good start for your first FM story mate! Good luck!
It will be great to see you get Forest back to the Brian Clough days, hopefully! Good luck.

Transfers, Tactics and League Form

I wanted to make some changes to the squad, the squad was a fairly young one but they still had bags of experience with them. I wanted some youngsters to propel us up the league and be a staple of the first team when we get to the Premier League, which I am confident of doing.

Here are the transfers which i made:

Overall, I was fairly pleased with my business, the only player I spent money on was Fierro who everybody signs. I was disappointed with the width that I managed to bring to the club and wanted another player signed but overall, fairly good. Here are the key transfers I made:

A good player who adds width to the team, and a new attacking incentive in the way we play.

A good player who will slot straight into our first team. He fits my system very well as he is good defensively and good going forward, a player I may be looking to bring in permanently.

I think we all know about this boy. An insane player who is capable of being a world beater. He is an ideal signing for a club like us.

I wanted to play an attacking game and wanted to dominated possession. I wanted to play quick tempo stuff and most of all, I wanted to get the results. I decided to try something new. I have never delved into classic tactics before but I wanted to have more of an effect on the tactics. I decided to have 2 tactics for now, a home tactic and an away tactic. I wanted them to be similar in the formation, but different in the team instructions.

Overall, what I was aiming for with this was quick attacking football with a solid team as a unit. I felt this tactic utilised our game very well. A solid defence with 2 attacking fullbacks and a defensive focused midfielder to help the central defenders. 2 other solid central midfielders to play box to box, both attacking and defending. A good playmaker grinding out transfers for my striking partnership.

This tactic was very similar to the home one. Just the fullbacks defended more, the central midfielders made more of an effort to get back and I had a defensive midfielder to add to the defensive efforts. I played more of a counter attacking style with more direct passing.

The league

I will be covering 10 games at a time, showing you all of the fixtures and the results individually. These are the first 10 fixtures (excluding friendlies).

The friendlies didn't go very well and I wasn't thinking our league form would be that good.

An immense start to the season, my tactics have started very well. I don't have the league table as I played ahead (sorry <3) but we were top of the league at this point! An insane start and the best player so far has to be Greg Halford, he is such a great player, he is a rock at the back!!

Thank you for reading.
For your first story, it's brilliant and the effort put in this is immense. Don't listen to the RamKebab guy, something tells me he's a twat, and you shouldn't trust twats - their judgement is usually really, really blind ;)

A bad pre-season but hopefully you can turn around the results during the season. Good luck with Forest.
Awesome start mate will follow this! Loads of effort put in and even though preseason wasn't perfect it's a good fitness run for the team

Let's Keep it up!

In this update I will be covering 20 games 19 of these in the league and the other in the FA cup, here is the fixture list:

Overall, it's a run of fixtures against almost every team in the league but the Championship is a tough league and anybody can beat anybody.

Well, 30 games into the season with 16 left, I couldn't imagine a better start. This immense run which saw us beat 2 East Midlands rivals, left us in top spot which is just insane. We look on course to be getting promotion this season and I am ecstatic as my tactics are serving us so well.
