Brilliant couple of updates so far Toon. I'm excited to see how Ramaker's future will go.

It's been a strange few days, and a lot has changed, but everything is sorted now and I can relax and enjoy the rest of the season.
The Sparta rumor turned out to be true, and, until summer, I am a Sparta Rotterdam player, not a Roda JC player! I am exited, as I haven't seen much genuine league action since Roda got me- not that I was expecting it, but, it is nice to have a chance to actually play!
Luckily the manager told me when I arrived that he will be playing me in the starting 11 on a regular basis- that is, if I play as well as he thinks I will. I promised him I'll give 100%, and that just because I am on loan does not make me want to win less.
One problem coming to Sparta, as a 16 year old, is I have nowhere to live. It's not like I am going to relocate my family to Rotterdam for 6 months, so I had to sort something out. A new friend of mine, Nick, who is also on loan, but from Groningen, said we could share a flat for a while, which is good.
I was hoping for a lower number, but the manager must have thought it would be funny to give me an even higher one than what I had at Roda JC. Very amusing.

Steady Along

It's 2013, and things are starting to pick up for me. Although I am not really threatening a first team position for Roda JC, I am really staring to pick up the pace in the reserves, where I am one of the best players. It's looking pretty positive for me at the moment, the coaches are pushing me hard and are saying I will be one of Roda's best players in a few years.

I have been playing pretty good lately. For someone who has only been with a pro team for half a year, I think I am doing great. I am focusing hard and I believe I can be an international one day. If I keep on developing at this rate, at least.

The coaches have told me that I will not develop as fast playing for the reserves as I would playing for an actual team, normally, so they said I should consider going out on loan if the opportunity comes up. I wouldn't mind that too much, and, I heard Sparta were interested in me.

The big news around the start of the year is the Ballon D'or, which Messi won. I didn't really expect anyone else, to be honest. Maybe Ronaldo. The World Player of the Year was Rooney, he has been prolific so far and I guess he deserves it, but I wouldn't compare him to Messi.

My life has changed so much in the last year, and I am exited. I think I can actually make it big. I am disappointing in many ways with the season, but, I also am very happy with it. It is often like that when you are loaned out. All I know is that I am happy with my progress.
For half of the year, I was a Roda JC player, the other half a Sparta player. I got more action with Sparta, and, in a way, I feel more comfortable there. It is very strange, as I was loaned from a team in the league above, but next season, the teams will switch. It feels like returning from the loan is a step down.
I am very happy with the promotion I helped grasp with Sparta, but the happiness I found there was ruined by Roda JC's relegation. I now know, unless I depart the club in the window, I will be playing, once again, in the second division, even though I was hoping to get some more Eredivisie action next year.
Anyway, club football changes fast. I can easily move around. But International football is different, you have to be loyal to the country you are capped for, and, I was shocked and exited when I was called up to the France-U19's, as I expected that my future is with Holland. Maybe not. I was subbed on in the last few minutes against Greece, so I didn't get a real taste of it, but still, it is a step in the right direction.
Anyway, at the moment, I just have to mull over my future. Is staying at Roda the best option? Would I be better moving upwards, or, is this club at my level at the moment. I don't know. What I do know, though, is that I am currently enjoying cocktails and parties in Hawaii with my teammates.

I am very, very exited. Before I was unsure where I was headed as a footballer, but now, I am on the way to my boyhood club. It is fantastic. Here I can improve better than I did at Roda JC. Even though I appreciated the coaches in Holland, I am back where I should be.
So I am headed back to my home town, where I used to sit in the home stands of the stadium and watch the team I will be playing for! I am one of the many that will join Saint-Etienne as they have been gifted with a good budget. Hopefully this means we will have a good season.
I was bought by the new manager, Rudi Garcia. I think he is a nice guy. He respects me because I said I want to do all I can for the club I love. He has helped me a lot and said that he likes my abilities. He thinks, if I work hard, one day I could become a Saint-Etienne legend!
Not only does he compliment me, but, when I asked if I could get the 11 shirt- which I didn't see happening, as it is pretty low- he said yes! I always wanted this shirt and when I am big- which I think I will be one day, I want to play with it. I did not imagine I could get it so young.
One really good thing about moving to Saint-Etienne is that I will be able to move back in with my parents, and all my original friends are here, so I will have a much better social life than the one I had in Holland!
As time has gone I have appeared more for the French U19 side, and I have played well, scoring lots of goals. I guess the big moment was when we played Holland in the European Championships, the side that I would consider my original nationality. It was a very odd game as I always cheer on both France and Holland. I guess the coach was seeing if I really was loyal to France, and I scored, so I guess I am, even though we lost.
Since I showed my loyalty, the national French coaches must have had a chat, as I have been promoted to the U21s, the closest possible team to the senior squad. It is an honour. I haven't been capped yet, but I am sure the day is coming when I will be.
